My car does not recognize the onstar services I pay for. For as long as I've owned the car I have been unable to share wifi with connected devices and even pressing the onstar button tells me I don't have a subscription, even though I have paid hundreds of dollars for onstar service since buying the vehicle. This came to a head when I got a flat in literally the middle of nowhere New Mexico and spent 5 hours stranded on the side of the road, in the middle of a desert, as Onstar tried to figure out where I was and tried to figure out where to send me. The company refuses to resolve my issues but is happy to keep charging me month after month for data and roadside assistance services as unresolved case after case piles up on my account. I can't even count the number of times they have asked to "send a refresh signal" even after spending thousands of dollars at the dealership for radio programming and a new "Telematics Module." The company is a joke. Buyer beware. Onstar will string things along until your GM warranty runs out and then nobody will be willing to work through your issues. Paid $42k for the car and even though I am willing to pay more to get this resolved it's finger pointing to AT&T, the dealership, or GM, which is the same company. It's almost unbelievable how they make their own issues a problem for the customer instead of taking accountability.

I'm having same issue, I just bought a beautiful 2019 chevy equinox Lt 1.5 turbo & I activated onstar trial plan, even my chevy app works and can remote start & shows my onstar plan, but the dash in the car has none of my updated acct info under onstar & they tried sending countless signals and vehicle restarts but nothing works, I'm able to connect to the wifi just not internet, I can share my phones internet plan with my car and use the internet fine like that but onstar internet nothing ! I'm thinking this is a onstar issue and not a vehicle issue bc I'm seeing this with so many people & different makes/models & it's sad to see it going on for so many years and going into 2025 shortly & still not a fix, very sad bc I would love to use these services

I am having the exact same issue with my buick and onstar. I have been paying and using onstar for a year now. I've called onstar multiple times to "activate" again but it will not activate. I have an email confirming I'm signed up with onstar but still nothing. There was a mybuick app update and I think that screwed everything up. Now when I try to review my plan, update payment information, I get an error message

This sounds incredibly frustrating and honestly terrifying, especially being stranded in the middle of nowhere with no reliable help. It's hard to believe that a service you're paying for month after month can leave you in such a vulnerable situation. The lack of accountability and the constant finger-pointing between OnStar, GM, and the dealership is absolutely unacceptable. It's not just about the tech not working—it's about safety and customer care, which seem to be completely ignored here. I really hope more people start speaking up about this, so maybe the company will finally be held accountable for all the money they've taken without providing the service they're supposed to. You deserve so much better than this.
