Alexa skill for My Chevrolet no longer available

I use a routine on my Alexa device to open my garage door and start my vehicle daily while getting ready to leave for work.  Within the last week, I noticed that I wasn't getting prompted for my PIN to start my vehicle, and getting a message from Alexa that it couldn't connect to My Chevrolet. This has happened before and I would just have to re-link my account in the Alexa app. When I tried to do that, it appears that the My Chevrolet skill is no longer available on Alexa. Has it changed to something else?

I have a Sliverado HD 2500 High Country and loved it with its tech features.  I bought Whirlpool appliances and after a year they discontinued the wifi features.  I bought a Toyota Tacoma and after 3 years they discontinued my navigation features.  This is the last straw for me!  Why would you increase a monthly fee on something that apparently a lot of customers love and then discontinue it.  Stupid, stupid, stupid!  I'm canceling my Onstar today!

Well I just got off the phone with Onstar and they said that they have nothing to do with the Alexa skill.  But on a positive note, I got my Onstar monthly rate decreased!  They said that this was GM's decision and not Onstar.

To me this is just as insulting as doing away with Carplay in new models. Why fix something that isn’t broken. oh, to make me pay for the GM equivalent. No thanks. One way or another, my vehicles will support these features and my replacement vehicle will be no different. GM will change course or someone else will fill that void and get my business. Dropping Alexa is disappointing. Dropping Carplay will be worse. I will not buy a vehicle that doesn’t support these features.

I understand your frustration with the discontinuation of the MyChevrolet Alexa skill. It was indeed a convenient way to control your vehicle remotely.

Not happy I can’t use the mybuick anymore I primarily bought the service to use with Alexa!! Is there another voice service provider??  Because if not this was a horrible decision and I may cancel the Onstar plan I’ve been using heavily for the Alexa skill!!!

i found this on a car dealer website:

Perks and conveniences

Simply by asking Google Assistant, you can start, stop, lock, and unlock your vehicle by speaking. To make the magic happen, just start your voice command with “Hey Google, ask Chevrolet to…” followed by your request, such as “unlock my car” or “start my car.” If your Chevrolet account has multiple vehicles attached to it, Google Assistant will ask you which one you’d like to access.

I dont have a google device at home, anyone know if this still an available option?

Well I really liked the convenience of starting my car with my voice. This decision has just saved me $16 a month for OnStar that I no longer need.
