On Star module
I have a 2023 GMC Denali and the Onstar Module stop working over a month now. Took it to the dealership the ordered the part but they have not received or have an ETA on the part since. What is the deal with this part that is is so difficult to order?

I have the same issue with my 2022 Yukon XL Denali…module out and no eta for part. So annoying to pay for a service that I can’t even use. To make matters worse, a month after I took it in I had to call the dealer for a status update on the part and I was told expected ship date was 7/11/24. Called again today, now no eta on when the part will ship. Probably never get a call when/if it ever comes in. Guess I’ll cancel the OnStar subscription because it’s useless right now.

2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Carbon Pro
Bought with 10,000 miles. Have had it in service multiple times. Now the onstar module is out and has been for over 3 months. Dealership said it is on backorder. I bought this truck because it had the functions I need in order to drive safely as I have some disabilities. I am paying for a truck that most of the reasons I purchased the vehicle do not function. I am very disappointed in the level of service GMC has provided to their customers. What is the solution for this issue? Do customers receive any compensation for all of the time they are waiting for a new part? This is a safety issue for customers. I would think GMC would make this a high priority and let customers know the ETA to receive a new part, etc. This isn't the only problem I have had with my vehicle and it is very frustrating and disappointing. I am paying for a product that repeatedly has to go to the dealership for service and some of the most important features so not work and it affects my driving as well as my safety.

I have a 2022 Tahoe with a bad OnStar module too. I’ve been waiting for 4 months for the new module to come in. It is very frustrating that it is taking so long with no eta. Between the clock not keeping time (even set on manual not satellite) paying for the app with no way of using it and having my xm favorite channels being wiped every week I’m deeply considering getting rid of his vehicle.

I too have had my OnStar module on my 2022 Envision confirmed by both OnStar and local dealership that module has died. This was verified by dealership Service department at the end of Aug 2024. Was told that replacement modules are back-order, and it may be a while. I have heard nothing from the dealership from my couple of emails asking for updates. The module actually quit working in May of 2024 but still have been paying my only service fee for a product that is not available due to dead module. Would really like to be able to remote start my vehicle using the mobile app since it is now wintertime.

I'm in the same boat! My 2023 suburban hasn't had the module working for over 8 months. My dealership just told me it would be over $500.00 to replace. This should be under warranty?

Same issue here with a 2023 Tahoe. Telematics Control Module on backorder, don't know when it will arrive. Concern I have is paying for OnStar as I get a small savings on auto insurance, but not able to utilize benefits of OnStar until part is received and problem is fixed. Additional concern is the safety recall on the vehicle that is unable to be fixed until the part is received. I guess GM is waiting to have some catastrophic accidents or claims before they actually implement a remedy.

Didn't realize this community existed - thanks Google.
Ditto for me I guess. Last December they did the "update" below. Don't know if the update killed the module or the person doing the update. I don't make heavy use of OnStar or the Nav, but noticed my posted speed limits was not displaying a few weeks later. Then noticed Google maps did not know where I was. Now my part too is on "order". The app was handy though - it showed the last time that OnStar "saw" the truck was in December in their shop!
I'm hoping that I can get my subscription extended for the amount of time I'm without this - given what it COSTS.
I wonder what the RECALL was about. It's worked perfectly until I got that done. Why can't I opt out of updates until things become obsolete to the point that an update is required. Clearly this update was not required.

2023 GMC Yukon XL - same issue as the others. No ETA on replacement. Has anyone received a new Onstar Module and/or gotten their Onstar service extended due to this issue?

I have the same problem with my 2022 Yukon Denali. Telematics control module on order with no ETA and in the meantime paying for onstar that doesn’t work, no WiFi, no navigation etc. Help!

I had the same issue with my 2019 Bolt. Took the dealer about six weeks to locate the module from a dealer in a nearby state.
