Recall/Class Action on Onstar Module ??
I join the many who have to have their Onstar module replaced. 2023 Yukon. No ETA from GMC on this backordered part. Time for a recall and/or Class Action! I cannot believe the number of people with the same issue! Has anyone's module come in yet?

Same issue with my 2025 Blazer ev. No gps connection from 3 weeks. Tried using onstar button for support and that got stuck in blinking green light. I was told to take car to dealership and they told me it’s bad onstar module and no eta. So now my app doesn’t even connect to car to tell me if my car need charge. No gps for maps or music.

I'm currently experiencing issues with my Onstar. Sometimes my internet service and apps work. Other times it doesn't. I notice that it doesn't work at all when I start my car with my phone remotely. I called Onstar and they ran 3 test. One failed and I was told to take it to the dealership. I'm upset because I haven't had my Traverse for a year and I'm having this issue. This is upsetting and GM need to get it together. This is truly bad business.

Please everyone reach out to Hagens Berman's if you have this issue. They are the ones that handled the recent Toyota case and are the best firm I can find to take this on! Clear safety issue given On Star for accidents here we have good standing on since they are using parts to continue building instead of fix the issue. Please reach out so we can get an idea of the class size.

How do I add to this law suit? I have a '22 Equinox RS. My OnStar stopped working. I had the antenna replaced at the dealership (that cost me $880), then they notified me that there was nothing wrong with it, that it was actually the OnStar module that was bad.

I see so many others are having issues with their GM vehicle and the OnStar module failing. 😡
I’ve read dozens of threads of people reporting the same issue, and now there’s talk of a class action lawsuit because this seems like a defect, not just bad luck. If GM/OnStar doesn’t step in, maybe legal action is the only way to force accountability.

I agree with this. These are defective and affect significantly the use of these vehicles. Very troubling. To make matters worse for those of us that foolishly bought or leased an EV without CarPlay or Android auto we are stuck with $60,000 golf carts.

Bought a new equinox rs in late January and was in Gatlinburg Tenn. trying to get directions at 5:30 in the morning and onstar would not connect, couldn't get google maps to work either. Called onstar after we got home and they did reboots and nothing worked. Brought to dealership and was told module was bad. o time given for replacement. Totally unacceptable, if you cannot get parts maybe a different system is needed. I agree a class action lawsuit is needed. Worked at gm for 32 yrs. always have owned gm vehicles but am considering switching brands. GM get your rear in gear!!!

How do I add to this law suit? My 2022 Chevy Silverados Onstar Module doesnt work and I've been paying for Onstar all these years and cant even use it. Went to the dealership and going to cost over $700 to fix

There’s talk of class action but no one has really organized with a lawyer yet. I’m thinking state attorney generals for each state affected but it seems like this is a Nationwide issue. While I’m unfamiliar in this field of law I wouldn’t know where to begin. My 22 Buick is out of warranty and this repair isn’t covered at all. ONSTAR will try to reach out to have a private conversation but it is a waste of time. Remember, ONSTAR is a product of GM and is in ALL GM VEHICLES. No way are they going to go against their parent company.
GM needs to issue a NATIONWIDE RECALL. Some cars are shutting down completely, some are drivable but lack some of the safety features because the faulty module is malfunctioning the safety system causing alerts, service engine lights, and drainage of the battery mid drive. This is a dangerous and hazardous condition to drive under if driving is mandatory, like it is for me. They say “you’re fine” to drive like this but there is a potential for bodily injury if the car breaks down mid drive on a highway with no warning. Someone is going to die or get seriously injured… is that when GM is going to do something about this? They have no problem paying billions out in settlements for wrongful deaths rather than fix the issue to secure lives. This is NEGLIGENCE. It needs to end.- varshakarkalaNew Contributor II
I called GM complaint dept today and they claim this is not a widespread issue(clearly it is) and that all i can do is wait. This feels extremely unsafe especially for electric vehicles.

Anyone has many followers on X to tweet and get a response from GM?

Has anyone thought about taking this to the MEDIA? News outlets? Wouldn’t this be a great story for prime time? Let me know if anyone has connections. I’m camera friendly.

GM needs to do a RECALL on this and reimburse anyone who has already paid hundreds and thousands to fix this problem. Onstar will not help you even though they say they will. I’ve also contacted GM “We Are Listening” Customer Satisfaction Division and spoke to a LIVE rep for months about this… She tried to help me communicate with the dealership. VERY STUBBORN people because I reported this issue after they installed another module that went faulty and I had to have the module reprogrammed. Once that happened my Onstar went out of service… They say there was no connection between the events and they say since my car was out of warranty they couldn’t help me or change the module anyway without paying over $1000… I think if a suit is started they will settle by issuing a nationwide recall on this module (of course once they have this part available)…
We are still paying for services we aren’t getting and that is WRONG. Some of us are LOYAL GM customers and have purchased their brand for YEARS…Like me… I’ve been GM all the way. I had to reduce the Onstar service from PREMIUM to just the app access (10$ a month) just to keep my account open… I CAN’T EVEN USE THE APP because the module no longer communicates to the phone either. Something needs to happen. Please keep pushing forward… Don’t let this go! GM needs to be held accountable to their LOYAL customers. These are OBVIOUSLY not isolated issues and it is occurring to people NATIONWIDE… I’m waiting for someone to put GM’s direct Corporate info on here to proceed further… Can someone please put GM on the SPOT? Let’s do this! This is OUR HARD EARNED MONEY and we need to STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT HERE.

I’m currently dealing with this same issue now. My 2025 Buick Enclave was purchased outright in February, and it has already been in for service twice for the exact same problem. The first time, the dealership had my vehicle for over a month. Now it’s back in for the same issue — the battery continues to drain, and they still can’t determine the cause. It’s been almost two weeks this time, and it’s incredibly frustrating to be going through this with a brand-new vehicle!!!!!!!! We are going to get lawyers involved.

Our team understands how frustrating multiple dealership visits for your new Enclave can be, especially when the battery concern is still not resolved. We would be glad to connect and explore all of our options for assisting further. Please send us a private message to OnStar_Support with more details. This is so sad! What kills me is you keep making these vehicles knowing you don't have parts to replace them if needed. Seems like that in itself should be illegal! WHY has the BBB NOT DID SOMETHING ABOUT GM?
