my 2025 Equinox EV (4000 miles) also has a failed Telematics module (as of 2.1.25) with a "backorder" status and dealer has no idea when it'll be in. Not only does it affect OnStar, but gps/maps/charger near you dont work either. You have to guess and figure it out manually. The car thinks I'm hundreds of miles from where I actually am and doesn't change location. This is unacceptable in any vehicle, but especially an EV which relies on the information to travel4.5KViews7likes47Comments2025 Buick Enclave - Ongoing OnStar / Battery Drain Issue
Hi everyone, I’m posting to see if anyone else has been dealing with the same issue. I have a 2025 Buick Enclave that I purchased brand new about nine months ago. From the start, I’ve had recurring problems with the OnStar system and a total loss of power. The vehicle has repeatedly gone dead or failed to start. The dealer told me it’s related to a defective OnStar (telematics) module that’s been draining the battery and preventing the system from going into sleep mode. My Enclave has now spent over 30 days in the shop, and we’ve had a case open with GM for weeks — but there still isn’t a confirmed fix or part available. We have been enduring these issues while our brand new Enclave sits in the shop, and we have not received answers (from Buick or the dealer) for how it will be resolved. I wanted to share this in case other owners are experiencing similar problems or have received any updates or resolutions from GM. If anyone from Buick or GMC sees this, please reach out — I’d really like to get this resolved.1.3KViews1like34Comments2025 equinox ev- OnStar Telematics module - no dates for backorder part is unacceptable
I recently bought equinox ev 2025. In 5th month of use, telematics system stopped working. Dealership mentioned that part is nationwide back ordered with no estimated date. And i saw on many portals where same issue has raised by many car owners. Is this normal to have this part back ordered with no estimated date. And if GM knows the problem with this part, why are they selling such cars. Is there a way to raise this concern with any federal department?3KViews6likes51Comments2023 Tahoe Z71 Telematic Module out
I have a 2023 Tahoe Z71 and the Chevrolet GM service dept just told me the telematic module for the OnStar is out. They are checking to see when they can get the part but have no date. I see a ridiculous amount of complaints on here about the same thing with no resolution to the problem. It’s very disheartening. We paid a stupid amount of money for this vehicle and have been on a premium OnStar subscription plan but have had no service for 5 weeks. Now I’m being told they don’t know when the part will be in? At this point I’m thinking I don’t want to ever buy another vehicle equipped with OnStar.2.4KViews5likes20CommentsOnstar module back ordered
Hey guys, I bought a 23 gmc terrain on 1/20 and didn’t notice until days later that there was no light by the Onstar button, I took it to the dealership on 1/31 and was told that the module needs to be replaced, I have a loaner car which I’m grateful for but there looks as if there’s no time line on when this part will be shipped. I’ve been looking at other posts and noticing quite a few people went thru the same thing but a lot of posts are from a year ago, just frustrating that the back order issue still isn’t fixed. The dealership won’t give me back my car until the part comes in. The loaner car that they gave me is a 2022 gmc Arcadia Denali and the Onstar button on this one isn’t working either smh. I guess I’m just here to vent because I just don’t know what else to do at this point.OnStar Module Disgrace
I’d like to add my name to the list of disappointed customers dealing with this godforsaken module. My Cadillac Optiq is less than a year old. The onboard 5G has never been stable; it always took time to connect when starting the car, which should have been a clue. Starting in December, the GPS began glitching, showing my location incorrectly. Eventually, it stopped working altogether. The OnStar button wouldn’t work, and the mobile app wouldn’t connect. I took the car to my dealership in Burlington, Ontario, where they diagnosed the issue as expected. They let me rent a car over the holidays (and indefinitely it would appear) through my warranty, but the only option available was a far inferior ICE vehicle with terrible fuel economy. I chose an EV for a reason. I drive up to 600 km a week and don’t want to spend that much money on gas. So I asked for my car back, since it still works mechanically. It has now been over a month and neither the dealership nor GM has provided an ETA or any meaningful answers. What’s really embarrassing is that I can’t even use something like Android Auto. My only GPS option is mounting my phone above the massive infotainment screen. It feels like driving a car from 2018. At this point, I can’t imagine buying another GM vehicle. I regret not choosing an Audi; at least they support Android Auto. Don’t get me wrong, the Cadillac Optiq is a fantastic car and I enjoy driving it, but I feel like GM and OnStar are treating their customers like marks. I deeply resent the lack of communication I’ve received.138Views2likes4CommentsOnStar Module Broke
Brought my 2023 Yukon XL with 38K miles in to fix a recall and when I got it back now my “telematic control module/OnStar module” is broken and needs to be replaced. Dealer is telling me it will cost $900 and they have no idea when the part would even be in? This is ridiculous, not only should I not have to pay for this, but it shouldn’t have broke and if it needs fixing it should be done immediately.5.3KViews8likes60Comments
