I recently bought equinox ev 2025. In 5th month of use, telematics system stopped working. Dealership mentioned that part is nationwide back ordered with no estimated date. And i saw on many portals where same issue has raised by many car owners. Is this normal to have this part back ordered with no estimated date. And if GM knows the problem with this part, why are they selling such cars. Is there a way to raise this concern with any federal department?4.5KViews8likes57CommentsGoogle map showing incorrect location and OnStar not connected
I have Chevy equinox ev lt2 2025 on lease since April 2025 After first few months, Then the GPS started showing that I was in places that were 100 miles away. That is when I pressed my OnStar button, which did not work. So I called OnStar. They told me that since the OnStar button was still green, to take the car to my dealership & tell them OnStar said it was the telematics module. I brought it to the dealership. They sent me right home because they said it would take some time to even diagnose the issue and the diagnosis will determine how long a repair will be. After that we had multiple calls with OnStar and dealer but no help so far. We had appointment today 12th November 2025 with Andean Chevrolet Cumming GA, technician didn’t see the issue at all and tried to sell on star membership. it is clear that with on star basic free membership Google Maps should work and it is working for many of my friend. They are saying we need to buy paid membership. now I have appointment again on November 17th. Hope this time it should be resolved. One guy indicated antenna issue no one suggested rot cause and solution so far.611Views1like4CommentsAnother Bad Telematics Module
I own a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox. My OnStar was spotty but working in March and April, but now went completely out. I called OnStar and they could not connect. They said it was probably the telematics module is bad and I needed to take it to the dealer. Took it to the dealer and after two days of trying to get the OnStar to work they said the module needed to be replaced. Fine, but the module is on back order with no ETA. I’ve read online that it could be up to a year. This is our only car and I pay a lot for my subscription. I do so because OnStar is something I rely on and now you tell me I’m without it for weeks, months… who knows? Plus I’m spending $$$ for nothing until it’s fixed. Someone surely has an idea of when I can get this fixed…don’t they?107Views0likes1CommentOnStar Module Failure - software recall?
My 2022 Chevy Suburban Z71 OnStar Telematics Module likely failed. I took it into a local dealership in January due to the software recall. I explained to the service department that I had not been able to use the App to access vehicle info, start it remotely, access wifi, etc... since Nov 29, 2024. The service tech told me that the new software update should fix the problem. I had read about the telematics problem and called the service department prior to bringing my car in and the mechanic explained he would take a look at it. When the car was ready, I tried to access use the app and it still did not connect. The tech told me that I likely had to give the software some time to work itself out:). I'm in software and knew this was a load of BS. I asked him to bring the car back into the mechanic and he said I had to make another appointment and come back. So, my question is, what about the lack of access and I am still paying for wifi and OnStar. Can any credit be given retroactively and cancel or put this on hold until the issue is resolved? I am paying for something that is not functional....6.6KViews5likes57CommentsTelmatic Module
To Whom it may concern, I have a 2023 (7/1/23) GMC Sierra. The telematics unit was out for approx. 5 weeks before I had a dealer appt for another issue. They said i would have to work with Onstar to figure it out, so I was at the dealer and I did just that. Onstar stated that I needed to schedule an appt. with the dealer. The dealer couldn't fit me in for another topic that day. Two weeks later the dealer stated that it was the telmatics module. It was also on backorder. It was 7 weeks since the need for a telematics module which was out of warranty. There is no future appt for the replacement do to it being on backorder. based on my internet research there appears to be an ongoing issue with these late model Telematics Modules across multiple brands. My questions.... Shouldn't this be covered under warranty (the dealer stated the GMC would cover half) since it is Onstar related and I have a 3-year subscription to the service? I think Onstar needs to credit me the time on the subscription once the app starts talking to the truck again. There is no end in sight on when the issue would be fixed. I am looking for Onstar feedback Thanks, DLBuff2.1KViews4likes15Comments2025 Buick Enclave - Ongoing OnStar / Battery Drain Issue
Hi everyone, I’m posting to see if anyone else has been dealing with the same issue. I have a 2025 Buick Enclave that I purchased brand new about nine months ago. From the start, I’ve had recurring problems with the OnStar system and a total loss of power. The vehicle has repeatedly gone dead or failed to start. The dealer told me it’s related to a defective OnStar (telematics) module that’s been draining the battery and preventing the system from going into sleep mode. My Enclave has now spent over 30 days in the shop, and we’ve had a case open with GM for weeks — but there still isn’t a confirmed fix or part available. We have been enduring these issues while our brand new Enclave sits in the shop, and we have not received answers (from Buick or the dealer) for how it will be resolved. I wanted to share this in case other owners are experiencing similar problems or have received any updates or resolutions from GM. If anyone from Buick or GMC sees this, please reach out — I’d really like to get this resolved.2.7KViews3likes39CommentsMonths without OnStar Telematics
I bought a new 2026 Chevy Traverse less than a year ago. During my first year of ownership, the vehicle has spent 42 days in the shop after the ESC light tripped for the brake system. A few months later, now I'm now dealing with a failed Telematics module with no ETA for replacement parts. It's been 30 days since my dealership put in the order. My vehicle included a tech package with internet and OnStar service, neither of which work anymore. Remote start? Gone. Locate the vehicle via App? Gone. God help us if we're actually in an accident and need OnStar help. Can't connect. I'm losing value by the day with no end in sight. I cannot understand WHY replacement parts are not available for a new model. It's such a poor reflection on the GM brand.345Views0likes5Commentsonstar telematics module
I have the same problem as everyone else... Onstar Module. I have a 2022 Trail Boss I bought in October 2024. Looking at all the defective modules and time frame to get a replacement my next step is a lawyer for some type of Class action lawsuit. GM should have had a recall on the defective hardware. Since they do not I am going to help them along! Balls in your court GM!85Views0likes0Comments
