Hi everyone, I’m posting to see if anyone else has been dealing with the same issue. I have a 2025 Buick Enclave that I purchased brand new about nine months ago. From the start, I’ve had recurring problems with the OnStar system and a total loss of power. The vehicle has repeatedly gone dead or failed to start. The dealer told me it’s related to a defective OnStar (telematics) module that’s been draining the battery and preventing the system from going into sleep mode. My Enclave has now spent over 30 days in the shop, and we’ve had a case open with GM for weeks — but there still isn’t a confirmed fix or part available. We have been enduring these issues while our brand new Enclave sits in the shop, and we have not received answers (from Buick or the dealer) for how it will be resolved. I wanted to share this in case other owners are experiencing similar problems or have received any updates or resolutions from GM. If anyone from Buick or GMC sees this, please reach out — I’d really like to get this resolved.2.4KViews2likes39CommentsOnStar Module Failure - software recall?
My 2022 Chevy Suburban Z71 OnStar Telematics Module likely failed. I took it into a local dealership in January due to the software recall. I explained to the service department that I had not been able to use the App to access vehicle info, start it remotely, access wifi, etc... since Nov 29, 2024. The service tech told me that the new software update should fix the problem. I had read about the telematics problem and called the service department prior to bringing my car in and the mechanic explained he would take a look at it. When the car was ready, I tried to access use the app and it still did not connect. The tech told me that I likely had to give the software some time to work itself out:). I'm in software and knew this was a load of BS. I asked him to bring the car back into the mechanic and he said I had to make another appointment and come back. So, my question is, what about the lack of access and I am still paying for wifi and OnStar. Can any credit be given retroactively and cancel or put this on hold until the issue is resolved? I am paying for something that is not functional....6KViews5likes52CommentsMonths without OnStar Telematics
I bought a new 2026 Chevy Traverse less than a year ago. During my first year of ownership, the vehicle has spent 42 days in the shop after the ESC light tripped for the brake system. A few months later, now I'm now dealing with a failed Telematics module with no ETA for replacement parts. It's been 30 days since my dealership put in the order. My vehicle included a tech package with internet and OnStar service, neither of which work anymore. Remote start? Gone. Locate the vehicle via App? Gone. God help us if we're actually in an accident and need OnStar help. Can't connect. I'm losing value by the day with no end in sight. I cannot understand WHY replacement parts are not available for a new model. It's such a poor reflection on the GM brand.231Views0likes5Commentsonstar telematics module
I have the same problem as everyone else... Onstar Module. I have a 2022 Trail Boss I bought in October 2024. Looking at all the defective modules and time frame to get a replacement my next step is a lawyer for some type of Class action lawsuit. GM should have had a recall on the defective hardware. Since they do not I am going to help them along! Balls in your court GM!50Views0likes0CommentsOnstar module
How long are people waiting for their onstar module? My dealer advised me today that I need mine replaced. One of the many things I have going on is that I can’t charge on a schedule. Is that part of the module? So I can’t charge during off peak hours. Any advice would be great. Thank you.69Views0likes1CommentTelematic Control Module needs replacement, but backordered with no ETA?! UNACCEPTABLE
My 2024 Equinox EV 2RS (Purchased brand new in November '24, only 1,568 miles on to-date) is now in the dealership for the third time due to what was thought to be a 12v battery problem. Turns out, it was a faulty Telematic Control Module that needs replacing, and the dealership that's working on it says GM has no timetable/ETA for the part?! The amount of posts on here reflecting how frequently this is happening should make GM want to have THOUSANDS of these parts on hand for immediate deployment, not arbitrarily informing dealerships, "There's no ETA." I'm a new mom and back to work for the first time since giving birth in October, and being unable to count on a vehicle to simply work is beyond defeating.10KViews9likes101CommentsUnable to Use Website After Logging In
My parents recently gave me their truck as a gift and they also transfered all of their GM Rewards points to me to use for Onstar. I went to go look at all of the different Onstar services to see which would best suite me and I found one. So I logged into my account that I created a while back and tried to go to the Onstar One page but it just took me back to onstar.com/trial. This would happen with any of the pages on the Onstar website, even the account. It wouldn't even actually log me in, it would for a split second and take me to shop.onstar.com but then instantly take me back to onstar.com/trial page and I wouldn't be logged in. This goes for any browser and any device. I have tried my phone, my laptop, my chromebook, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, none of them work. Can someone help please?Solved508Views1like12CommentsReal-time traffic on infotainment maps missing - '24 Escalade
Hi - I have a 2024 Escalade ESV V with traditional nav (not Google Built-In) that had real-time traffic capabilities when I purchased the vehicle new - December 2024. It would show color-coded traffic flows on the maps and reroute when navigating if there was a road closure or crash. That functionality ceased to function somewhere around the 6 month mark - certainly by October 2025. I have been trying to get the service back ever since. I think I have every OnStar subscription possible including those that profess to provide navigation and traffic. Does anyone know the service/source of traffic data on a '24 Escalade? Who is the provider? This is not a Google Built-In vehicle. HERE confirmed they provide the maps (SD card) but not real-time data. OnStar has flip flopped between suggesting I should be able to install an app - Maps+ (manufactured by MapBox) and mistakenly sharing Google Built-In reboot procedures. Maps+ is not rendered in my infotainment - I have used it in a 2026 loaner. The vehicle has been to the dealer twice for this issue, multiple OnStar cases and now a Cadillac Customer Care case. There is a lack of clarity around the source of the data and why it is not rendering on my vehicle. The dealer today told me I did not have a radio that supports traffic, only available in the highest trim levels. I have the highest trim available that year with the AKG Studio Reference infotainment system. FYI - the infotainment firmware is dated June 2023. Searching for OTA updates produces nothing. It occurred to me that the traffic was supplied by SiriusXM in the 360L trial - they have a nav and travel subscription which supplies traffic data. SiriusXM said my vehicle does not support their traffic service. This is driving me crazy. I need a technical expert. Thanks!70Views0likes3CommentsOnStar Module Failure
I, like apparently 1,000's of others have had my OnStar module fail. I took my purchased new, regularly dealer serviced 2023 GMC Yukon Denali in for a simple oil change and tire rotation as usual at the 45,000 mile mark. While I was returning home, I found I had no navigation, WiFi, voice activation, phone start, etc. After contacting OnStar support, they told me it seemed to be a hardware failure. The speed with which they were able to diagnose this over the phone led me to believe this was a common thing. Based on this message board, it seems so common that it's hard to believe that a recall hasn't been issued. This is blatantly bad part. I've also since learned after returning to the dealership that I'm on the hook for $800+ in repairs with no idea when the part will be available. Now, I've got a nearly $100k truck that doesn't do half of the things I paid for. This is a ridiculous issue that GM & OnStar need to correct. How can there be 1,000's of people out there with the same issue and no desire by the manufacturer to make amends or at least have the parts readily available when these things inevitably fail?3.2KViews6likes30Comments
