On Star module broken
I ahve a 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST and the on star module has failed. There has been no connection since 8/31/24. The dealer has said it is on backorder and no ETA when a new part will arrive. Has anyone even had their on star module replaced if having similar issue? This is very concerning and upsetting as I pay for the subscription and have also paid an annual subscription for wifi that doesn't work. The clocks in my vehicle are all off and am not getting full functionality of the vehicle I paid top dollar for. The car wouldn't start a week ago because it was sending low voltage signals to every system because of the faulty module. Luckily the dealer got it operational again but said they can't just disconnect it because that would cause too many issues. Very very frustrated here....

I have a 2022 Yukon and just noticed my light wasn’t on and after calling onstar found out it’s out.. I feel like there’s something defective if all these all are all of a sudden going out. And there’s no warranty that covers getting it repaired. All-Star needs to do something or put out a recall and fix it for us.

2023 Envision Avenir OnStar module died recently. Seems from this feed that there maybe faulty modules in our vehicles. Dealership is hoping a new one will be shipped in 2 weeks. Been having phone connectivity issues for several months now. Can these two be related?

I have a 2022 chevy tahoe and the dealership told me $750 for a new module and From the looks of it I'm not the only one with this issue. The dealership also told me if I get the new module for 750 it's not a guarantee it would be fixed .

I have a 2022 Silverado, OnStar Module went out 2 weeks ago. Im seeing people having problems going back to as far as Aug of last year. Same story with everyone "No ETA" on replacement part. 5 months and still No ETA? They are putting them in new vehicles they are currently producing, but they cant get replacements for people with a purchased vehicles on the road? It makes no sense that ONSTAR has not been able to supply a delivery date going on 6 months now. Being unable to use my chevy app is extremely frustrating. I've never seen a company go 5 to 6 months without being able to supply a delivery date.

There seems to be a lot of faulty modules with OnStar. On January 29th, my OnStar stopped working. Tech support did what they could, but they were unable to fix it. I now have an appointment with a dealership next Wednesday to have it checked out. I am sure they are going to have to order another module and then I will be stuck with an out-of-pocket expense, even though I pay for the service. This, to me, is just like a cable service, if the equipment is faulty, they come out and replace it, no charge. ITS THEIR EQUIPMENT. We subscribe for a service, on top of paying for the service that I am not getting at the moment. HORRIBLE, CUSTOMER SERVICE. And reading the above issues, looks like they do not even have a module they can send any time soon. But yet, they want you to subscribe to their service, This, is not the way to retain customers or get new ones to sign up for ONSTAR.

2023 Suburban also having same connectivity issues! On star button not working, WiFi not working…they told me I need to take it into the dealership…so I’m assuming I have a bad module as well.

I will continue to add to this. My 2023 Traverse now has the same issue. Can't get into the dealer until Feb 18th to even have it looked at.

There appears to be a widespread issue with the telematics module. I own a 2022 Cadillac Escalade, and my telematics module is not functioning. When I took it to Covert Cadillac in Austin, TX, the dealership informed me that I would need to pay approximately $460 just to have the module scanned to determine why it is offline—before they could even diagnose the problem or suggest next steps. Additionally, I was told that my extended warranty would not cover the module.
I agree with other customers that this issue needs to be reported to the Better Business Bureau, and legal action should be considered. It is unacceptable for GM to ignore this recurring problem, especially since Cadillac issued a recall for the same issue back in 2021. Clearly, the problem was never fully resolved.

I have a 2022 Tahoe with 77,000 miles, and my OnStar module quit working November 25th 2024. Finally got it to the dealership on January 22nd. OnStar module is bad and is on back order with no ETA. Fortunately for me, it was approved with our extended warranty. That's great, but the disappointment of not having a clock that works, maps, wifi, safety, and the use of the app is far beyond ridiculous. $85,000, not even 3 years old, and the clock doesn't work. The back order issue needs to be taken care of and we need better communication about the time frame.
