Real-time traffic on infotainment maps missing - '24 Escalade

Hi - I have a 2024 Escalade ESV V with traditional nav (not Google Built-In) that had real-time traffic capabilities when I purchased the vehicle new - December 2024.  It would show color-coded traffic flows on the maps and reroute when navigating if there was a road closure or crash.  That functionality ceased to function somewhere around the 6 month mark - certainly by October 2025.  I have been trying to get the service back ever since.  I think I have every OnStar subscription possible including those that profess to provide navigation and traffic.

Does anyone know the service/source of traffic data on a '24 Escalade? Who is the provider?  This is not a Google Built-In vehicle.  HERE confirmed they provide the maps (SD card) but not real-time data.  OnStar has flip flopped between suggesting I should be able to install an app - Maps+ (manufactured by MapBox) and mistakenly sharing Google Built-In reboot procedures.  Maps+ is not rendered in my infotainment - I have used it in a 2026 loaner.  The vehicle has been to the dealer twice for this issue, multiple OnStar cases and now a Cadillac Customer Care case.  There is a lack of clarity around the source of the data and why it is not rendering on my vehicle.  The dealer today told me I did not have a radio that supports traffic, only available in the highest trim levels.  I have the highest trim available that year with the AKG Studio Reference infotainment system.

FYI - the infotainment firmware is dated June 2023. Searching for OTA updates produces nothing.  It occurred to me that the traffic was supplied by SiriusXM in the 360L trial - they have a nav and travel subscription which supplies traffic data.  SiriusXM said my vehicle does not support their traffic service.  This is driving me crazy.  I need a technical expert.  Thanks!

Thanks for the update.  I'll share over the requested information tomorrow, if I have not received an update from either OnStar or Cadillac.  I learn something new every day - this vehicle is running Telenav - see image for SW version.  Does Telenav supply the traffic data?  What needs to be done to get it back on the map?  Tks!

I have the exact same issue with my 2024 Escalade.  It has been to the dealer three times because of the inability for my navigation  to recognize “live traffic”.  Please tell me that you were able to resolve this issue.

Hi John - apologies for the delayed response - my vehicle has been to my local dealer 3X for this issue - Al Serra, Grand Blanc, MI.  The most recent visit involved the service manager, his technical expert, and OnStar.  The diagnosis was that my vehicle ('24 Esc ESV V) never had real time traffic flow data on maps.  Attached is an image of my Telenav menu which would suggest otherwise.  I remember traffic data in the first six months of use.   Here's a link to a Telenav solution guide -

      https://m.telenav.com/website/product-resources/Telenav-Success-Story-Cadillac-Escalade.pdf

It does not mention traffic.  I reached out to Telenav to no avail.  Feel free to reach out to me here or via LinkedIn.  Thanks,

Folks:  This issue appears to be resolved thanks to a persistent OnStar representative - after 9 months, 3X trips to a dealership, multiple calls and cases and being told 2X by the dealer that I never had traffic flow date on this vehicle.  The solution; a simple reset to factory specifications in settings.  So simple, so much agony!  Here's how I recommend it be done (Telenav on a '24 Esc ESV V).

Confirm you have an active OnStar subscription with full data capabilities, check for software updates Settings > Software Updates (be sure to authorize all updates - see terms and conditions/check boxes, etc.), manually check and note the SW version installed on your vehicle.  Then, return to factory settings.  In my case, after returning to factory settings and adding a destination I see traffic flows (RYG) in areas of congestion/closed roads.  Note, if you live in an area without much congestion, you may need to zoom out to see flow data.  In my case I easily see flow colors 60 miles away in the Metro, not consistently in my town.

Thanks to the OnStar agent who persevered!  Much appreciated.
