2025 Equinox EV Gps not working

I recently bought 2025 Chevy EV Equinox and my GPS stopped working. Nothing works cannot call onstar, no connectivity cannot plan routes or find charging locations. It was hard to take it to dealership since no one wants to look at these kind of issues. Now they say that the onstar module needs to be replaced and it’s been back ordered. First time buying a GM vehicle and probably would be the last time. Dealers dont care and say it might even take longer and my lease might end before part arrives.

  • I have a 2024 Chevy Equinox EV and recently the GPS stopped working properly.  The car does not know it's exact location, so it cannot provide directions properly.  Please let me know how I can get the GPS location to work properly again.  Thank you.

My 2025 Equinox has the same issue.  Maps, and app, started acting up, then 2 days ago all onstar and internet connectiontivity stopped.  I called onstar,  and they are unable to connect to the car, and tell me to bring it to the dealer. Dealer won't even look at the car until a full week from now. And the tech tells me if indeed the car does need a new module,  they are on backorder and he has no idea how long it might take to get a new one.  Not happy.

  • I had mine replaced one week ago, it came in relatively quickly.  Exactly one week to the day, it started malfunctioning.  I was able to call OnStar from the vehicle this time.  They didn't fix it, instead they gave me a "remarketing trial"  of OnStar One (I think) that's the name . Which is their top tiered paid service.   If they think for one minute I am going to pay them to get a service that should be included with my vehicle (Navigation, hands free text, Etc)  they have another thing coming.  This does seem to get things to work- but the vehicle still says "can't connect". and navigation says " offline" but eventually does load.   More proof that I shouldn't pay them anything.   I have started filing out the Lemon Law paperwork.  GM is crap as is OnStar.   The only person that seems to care is my advisor from the executive team, her name is Danielle and she is phenomenal. Too bad she works for GM She deserves better!

Onstar/Chevy/GM need to bite the bullet on this one and either perfect the telematics model or give back access to Android Auto and Apple Car Play. There's no sense in having a big, beautiful screen that can't be used for maps. It is wrong to charge a premium the way Onstar does and to not be able to provide a reliable product. I'm facing the same thing right now: no maps, no app connectivity, no onstar, no internet, no info about charging stations... nothing. I love this car, but this problem needs to be fixed for many... now.

My issue was a slow buildup. It started with my remote start from the app occasionally not connecting. Then some of the apps occasionally had difficulty loading content. Then the GPS started showing that I was in places that were 50-100 miles away.  That is when I pressed my OnStar button, which did not work.  So I called OnStar.  They told me that since the OnStar button was still green, to take the car to my dealership & tell them OnStar said it was the telematics module.  I brought it to the dealership. They sent me right home because they said it would take some time to even diagnose the issue and the diagnosis will determine how long a repair will be. I had to make an appointment to come back when they had a loaner available (today).  I was told I will get a call on Monday with an update.
