Why can’t I locate my 2008 DTS on live map with onstar?

To provide some clarification, due to the cellular networks sunsetting their 2G networks, the OnStar systems in our model year 2015 and older vehicles are inactive. Please know, wireless network providers transitioned their cellular towers in the U.S. from 2G networks to 4G or 5G connectivity. The transition was completed by December 31, 2022. After the transition, 2G network connectivity is no longer provided. The decision to sunset these networks was made by the wireless network providers and the need to upgrade to newer technology. We are encouraging all affected members to download the OnStar Guardian App to stay connected to great peace of mind features such as Mobile Crash Response, Emergency Services and Roadside Assistance through your mobile device.
