Same issue, bought Equinox Ev in December 2024 and GPS stopped working end of June, dealers doesn't want to look at these issues and had to call multiple dealers to just get the car in and get checked. They say onstar module needs replaced and thats backordered. Service rep said it might even take 2yrs to part arrive and my lease might expire. Never buying GM vehicle again and looking to join the law suit.

I have contacted my State's Attorney General . I just need some guidance on how to proceed. Next I am looking into how to file a class action lawsuit.

I hear you. I have called multiple dealers. They refuse to call back to schedule. I guess the only way to fix anything is to start a lawsuit. Problem is, that too will take years. I also feel that the dealerships will not look at our cars because they don't want everyone to file under LEMON LAW. Which is absolutely what will happen.

Same issue. Why am I paying for this service and it doesn't work and they appears to be no end in sight. Cars sitting at dealers if they will take them for months, waiting for repair.

There is more than that in just GA. Just my little backwater dealership has a dozen on backorder.

Have a 2022 Silverado 1500, I have no idea when my OnStar had failed and only discovered it recently when trying to unlock my doors, called OnStar and went through troubleshooting and was told to set up service appointment with dealer and issued a case number. Called the dealer and they wanted to keep the vehicle for several days, no loaner, then discovered I am out of warranty only 33,000 miles!
Not going to get this fixed for days in the shop and hundreds, maybe thousands to repair replace since I only used the services once or twice, am very disappointed with Chevy and OnStar

I’ve been quietly dealing with major issues on my 2025 Chevy Blazer EV. First, GM couldn’t provide the Tesla Supercharger adapter for weeks—essential for long trips. Now, my Telematics unit has failed, cutting off my OnStar and over-the-air updates. I’ve been told there’s no ETA on the part.
Amira from GM’s resolution team has been outstanding—responsive and genuinely helpful—but even she can’t get answers.

Same deal here. I can't even get a "preferred" dealership to call me back to schedule an appointment to look at it. I have even provided the error code from onStar.

Calvin Shields. 2023 Buick Envision Avenir. My OnStar module died over 2 months ago. I had the module replaced and have tried for over a month for OnStar's technical department to correct a problem with my MDN (mobile phone number) on the unit which supposedly causes the data plan to not work at all. I've called OnStar support about this problem at least 2 times a week since the unit was replaced and the only response I ever get is "I'm sorry but I can't fix it. One of our senior engineers/level 2/level 3 technicians will have it fixed in the next 2-3 days. Here's your new case number..." I'm tired of getting "new case numbers" and NO ONE EVEN ATTEMPTS to correct the problem. Please put me on the list for the class action suit because I'm tired of all these "put off/pass-the-buck" games!

We all have had similar issues. Onstar told me the Onstar phones will no longer work period. After 2021 they discontinued them. Same as our weather app. And no explanation at all.

I was informed today by onstar that I need a new BCM onstar module. My car is 32 days old and the part is on national backorder.
Has anyone consulted a lawyer about this or is this just hoping that one is filed?
I bought a brand new 2025 with 3 miles on it because my low functioning daughter needs wifi to run her tablet while we are in the car or she has bad meltdowns since she doesn't like being in her special car seat.

I have contacted a attorney. My car is 2025 and has been in the shop since July 1st. This module had affected my vehicle in a way that it **bleep** the whole thing down and had yo get it towed to the dealership. No eta for the part and they wanted to take the part out and have me drive the car. Nope not happening. Putting miles on and am not getting what I am paying payment for. By the time that part comes in the warranty will be out .

Curious. What did the attorney say?

I bought a used 2023 Buick Envision Essence on 3/30/25 (from a Buick dealer). It was a previous rental/loaner and had over 49k miles so no warranty and I did not purchase a warranty. 1-2 weeks after purchase the check engine light (CEL) came on. Short version is it was diagnosed on 7/15/25...need Telematic module replaced - $1684.16 plus tax. I dropped the car off on Friday 8/15/25 for the fix. Interesting thing is part is not on back order for me... ETA for part to get to dealer is Friday 8/22/25. I'm in Los Angeles. Apparently California gets first dibs on parts. I feel bad for everyone here waiting for months! This doesn't make sense.

Sorry to hear you having to foot that bill right after purchasing smh i guess the bright side of things is the part is not on back order. Please update how it works after it’s replaced.

Your service support team and dealer arei excellent, but the problem now is that GM has rejected our request for a free OnStar module replacement. So, you can't help at all, and can only watch as these people who refuse to approve for the OnStar module gradually harm our customers and destroy GM. The person who refused the free OnStar module replacement should be identified, resigned, and held accountable for the current situation. Of course, the people who designed and manufactured OnStar are also unforgivable.

This is a clear product defect. My Yukong XL and Suburban both have the same issue. I've also been looking at Carfax for used cars online and found that many had their telecommunicate modules replaced free of charge through a claim settlement program called the Friend Program. I recommend that all owners of vehicles for which GMC has paid for replacements, whether new or used, unite and demand a free replacement or sue GMC.

My Yukon had a free replacement, but GMC refused to replace the module for the Suburban 2023 and asked me to pay for it myself. This is ridiculous. My dealer helped me file a claim, but GMC refused it.
