class action lawsuit OnStar module backorder
I bought a used 2023 Buick Envision Essence on 3/30/25 (from a Buick dealer). It was a previous rental/loaner and had over 49k miles so no warranty and I did not purchase a warranty. 1-2 weeks after purchase the check engine light (CEL) came on. Short version is it was diagnosed on 7/15/25...need Telematic module replaced - $1684.16 plus tax. I dropped the car off on Friday 8/15/25 for the fix. Interesting thing is part is not on back order for me... ETA for part to get to dealer is Friday 8/22/25. I'm in Los Angeles. Apparently California gets first dibs on parts. I feel bad for everyone here waiting for months! This doesn't make sense.

Sorry to hear you having to foot that bill right after purchasing smh i guess the bright side of things is the part is not on back order. Please update how it works after it’s replaced.

Your service support team and dealer arei excellent, but the problem now is that GM has rejected our request for a free OnStar module replacement. So, you can't help at all, and can only watch as these people who refuse to approve for the OnStar module gradually harm our customers and destroy GM. The person who refused the free OnStar module replacement should be identified, resigned, and held accountable for the current situation. Of course, the people who designed and manufactured OnStar are also unforgivable.

Onstar is a product of GM. We all know where the responsibility lies.
