No option to use the family share code

My son replaced his iphone 15.  The guardian app worked fine on the old iPhone 15.  I went into my app and removed him from the family share then went to add family member which generated a code that I text ro him.  We deleted the guardian app from his new phone which installed from backup then installed a fresh guardian app.  When he clicks on the link that I text him from my guardian app it opens the app, but only gives him the option to sign in with his email.  There is no option to accept the code that my family share app had generated.

I can sign in with my account info on his phone but of course that signs out my phone.  What do I do to get the app to ask for the family share code on his phone

We appreciate you reaching out to us with your difficulties adding your son back onto your OnStar Guardian Family Sharing Plan. To properly add a Family Member to your plan, they will need to create an account within the Guardian app beforehand in order to accept the invite you've sent them. Once he has the account created within the app, he should be able to accept your invitation. If you continue to run into difficulties after trying this, please follow up with us here.
