Telematic module is out
I recently bought a 2023 GMC acadia slt, we bought this one because it came with 3 years of onstar and wifi. Not the only reason we purchased this one, but it was a major factor. Anyway we have had this vehicle since 3 days before Thanksgiving. And the telematic module is out and we can't use any of the features, even the sos doesn't work. It seems as if this is a common malfunction so why hasn't it been recalled? Why should we have to pay to fix something on a year old vehicle? My mistake was not buying it from a gm dealer so I am basically SOL. I want my onstar, my navigation and the wifi i was promised when I bought a 30000 thousand dollar vehicle that these features were included. If the part isn't available how are we to fix it? When are they expected to be in stock? Why isn't this covered longer than the 36000 mile warranty? If someone's vehicle has over that on it. It shouldn't be our responsibility to pay to fix something on a new vehicle that apparently is faulty with how many complaints I have found about the module and onstar not working.

Bought my truck new April 2023. Like most new GMC Sierra they come with 2 year subscription with OnStar. My two year subscription expired two days ago 4/17/25. The same day it expired my OnStar functions all went out and my battery light came on. I didn’t notice anything wrong with the way the truck was running, I just notice all functions like the blue bottom, SOS button, GPS etc weren’t working. I was unable to call OnStar through the blue button. After, having a scan done the report showed two faults, P00FF- BCM and P0562 Low voltage. After, having the mechanic check the BCM, Battery and alternator out, everything tested to be positive with no issues. So, I decided to renew my OnStar subscription to shortly find out from OnStar that my truck needs to go to the dealer to have new OnStar module put in. It seems odd how all this happened at the same time of my subscription expired. Everything was working just fine and no check engine prior to expiration date. Anyone else having this issue?

Apparently I have the same issue on my 2025 Buick Enclave. Purchased in December 2024 so at least it should still covered. I’d be interested in seeing how many occurrences of this. It’s taken over a week to get into the service department. You don’t really know how much you will miss something until it’s gone.

I am having the same issue with my 2025 Buick as well. We had issues with it the first week we bought it, and 9 months later I'm being told the on star module is broken and draining the battery to the point the car will no longer start.

I hate to hear this. Unfortunately, the module is trash and should be a recall with upgraded components. I finally was able to have my new module installed two months ago. After, the installation, I was told to push the blue button to reactivate it. I drove my truck down the road about a mile to get fuel. While I was filling up I tried calling. After pushing the blue onstar button the functions responded like it was supposed to. It started ringing and ringing and after about a minute it stopped ringing and said try again. I didn’t think much about it because all my functions stayed working on my dash etc. about a week later I had a check engine light come on and I tried calling onstar to get a diagnostic report, again no answer. I then tried calling SOS, no answer. After a few minutes I received a call back from onstar asking if anyone was hurt etc. I explain that no one answered and continued to explain what issues I was having. After sitting on hold for 5 mins the gentleman returned and said everything was working fine on there end. Being frustrated I hung up and call my dealership back. Again, I had to take my truck back in. Come to find out the new module they installed was bad. Now, I’m waiting for a new one to come in. Supposedly, the modules are on back order. Humm I wonder why? Maybe, because they are junk and have tens of thousands to replace. I wish you luck.

My 2025 purchased in March just went out and on backorder. Have you had anymore issues?
