Faulty OnStar module
I recently “bought” the free 3 months OnStar one plan. After 24 hours, it wasn’t working so I called OnStar. The rep went through all of the details to try and fix it but basically said that the module is bad. I believe I shouldn’t have to pay for a faulty module when there is all kinds of drivers having the same issue. Infotainment System/Telematics went out and back ordered for 6+ months
Has anyone had any luck getting their OnStar features extended due to not being able to use them for an extended amount of time due to the infotainment system breaking (which is apparently extremely common) and being back ordered for many, many months?89Views0likes5CommentsEmail upgraded to Onstar One at no additional cost
I received an email from Onstar that I got a complimentary upgrade to Onstar One for no additional cost to me. Then I got ao $20 additional charge added to my card. I called OnStar, and they said that the package I had was discontinued, so they bumped me to OnStar One. The email did not say that my package had been discontinued; it just said that, as a Loyal Onstar customer, I am getting an upgrade at no additional charge. The lady couldn't explain why I got the email; all she could do was offer me another package. So I did get another package, which means I lost some of what I was getting before, which is fine, but I want to know why I received the email that I wasn't going to get charged extra, and then I was charged. I just want to know why i was told there would be no charge and then i got charged!!! I am very frustrated!!!83Views0likes3CommentsWhy does music streaming on OnStar Basics plan not work?
My trial of OnStar One finished, which should leave me with the features that came with my 2027 Chevy Bolt. However none of my music or podcasts work anymore. Music and Podcasts are listed as included features supposed to come with my 8-year OnStar Basics subscription, according to the page that lists all my active features with an expiration in 2034. When I try to listen to my music on the Apple Music app, it seems to be wanting an internet connection. I understand that the WiFi hotspot is behind a paywall, but clearly, the info from OnStar’s own records is saying I should still have access to music and podcasts. What should I do? Thanks! 2024 C8 owners lose out
So, The 2020-2023 C8 owners got life time functioning navigation included with no additional subscription cost. The 2025 and newer owners get 8 years included OnStar basics including navigation. Why is it that only the 2024 model year owners got such a minimalist three months of functioning Navigation? I paid a lot of money to insure I had all the features included that were available on a new C8. Is there any internal discussions at GM/OnStar about retroactively increasing the 2024 owners OnStar inclusions to better reflect what ALL OTHER C8 model year owners are getting from GM/OnStar?Solved149Views0likes5CommentsWhy is it so hard to find pricing info?
I keep searching in my GMC app and cannot find info on prices and what is included in those prices. Is it me and I’m not looking in the right places? Or, is this something sketch that you can only call, get a sales pitch and a subjective price that is different by day or by customer? As part of my Cadillac XT4 purchase, I was enrolled in the Onstar Premium Plan with unlimited data with an expiry of September 6, 2027. Based on this information provided by GM, I operated the system without concern for data usage. However, in the fall of 2026 the Premium Plan service stopped. A GM customer service agent informed me "the standalone Wi-Fi service was automatically cancelled due to launching of new product catalog". The agent further informed me the only way to address the issue is by calling Onstar sales. There is no other communication method available. Unfortunately I am deaf. Can someone at GM please restore the Onstar Premium Plan with an extension of the plan beyond September 6, 2027 by 5 months to address the fact I have been without the service for approximately that duration of time. Note that the issue was brought forward during the last two servicings of the vehicle at the dealership and they could not help.
