OnStar Light Red - Service Driver Assist Message - '25 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate
I purchased a new '25 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate about a month ago. At about 900 miles I got a 'Service Driver Assist' message every time I started the truck, and the Supercruise function would not work. The light adjacent to the OnStar button was also red. Everything else was working fine. Then after a few days, the OnStar suddenly light turned green again and Supercruise was fine again, no more Service Driver Assist message. Thought I was in the clear but suddenly today the red light and the error message is back, no Supercruise. I assume a hardware issue but if the module was dead would it work intermittently like this? Frustrating as this is an $85k truck and these features were a key factor in my purchase decision.2likes26CommentsRed light on OnStar keeps coming on
I received a S/W update from GM for my 2025 Buick Enclave,since then my OnStar is intermittent. When I use my key fob to open or lock the car the greenlight goes red and stay that way until I log in with remote start by Internet. Them the light stays green until I use the keyfob also the light will go red sometimes when I am driving, then suddenly turn green. Any ideas? In the OnStar app, my vehicle will not show the status anymore. Says it was last connected 4 months ago, but my subscription is active, the OnStar light is green in the car, and I can still pull up the vehicle location on the map. I've tried logging out and logging back in multiple times, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I even did a call with support, and they said they couldn't see any issues on their end. Months without OnStar Telematics
I bought a new 2026 Chevy Traverse less than a year ago. During my first year of ownership, the vehicle has spent 42 days in the shop after the ESC light tripped for the brake system. A few months later, now I'm now dealing with a failed Telematics module with no ETA for replacement parts. It's been 30 days since my dealership put in the order. My vehicle included a tech package with internet and OnStar service, neither of which work anymore. Remote start? Gone. Locate the vehicle via App? Gone. God help us if we're actually in an accident and need OnStar help. Can't connect. I'm losing value by the day with no end in sight. I cannot understand WHY replacement parts are not available for a new model. Dealership stated TCM was back ordered with no date available (6 months ago). Another dealership gave me a list of part numbers that were replacing my original TCM part #. Found one from 2024 silverado on Ebay. I installed it and took to dealer to program with my truck. Ck engine light went out and I could see where I was on the downloaded map. I called onstar to activate wifi and I'm told I can't activate service because the VIN on the TCM and my truck don't match. You figure it would be easy to do a switch, but that would make sense. I figure it's like buying a used phone and finding out it's locked by the service provider. This would resolve back order issues and get them some revenue coming in. I have a brand new 2025 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate 6.2L. When I reached 1k miles, the service driver assist system started popping up on my dashboard. I’ve been to the dealer twice about this issue. The first visit, they informed me they couldn’t do anything because no codes were coming up on their reader. It kept happening and then said something about the front camera blocked. The second visit to the dealer, they installed a new camera and the next day the same issue continued to pop up on my dashboard about servicing driver assist system. I spent too much money on this vehicle as I’m trying to give them the opportunity to do the right thing because I’m not gonna keep paying on this vehicle and dealing with these issues. My 2022 Chevy Suburban Z71 OnStar Telematics Module likely failed. I took it into a local dealership in January due to the software recall. I explained to the service department that I had not been able to use the App to access vehicle info, start it remotely, access wifi, etc... since Nov 29, 2024. The service tech told me that the new software update should fix the problem. I had read about the telematics problem and called the service department prior to bringing my car in and the mechanic explained he would take a look at it. When the car was ready, I tried to access use the app and it still did not connect. The tech told me that I likely had to give the software some time to work itself out:). I'm in software and knew this was a load of BS. I asked him to bring the car back into the mechanic and he said I had to make another appointment and come back. So, my question is, what about the lack of access and I am still paying for wifi and OnStar. Can any credit be given retroactively and cancel or put this on hold until the issue is resolved? I am paying for something that is not functional....4likes41Comments
