Vehicle Status Issue
In the OnStar app, my vehicle will not show the status anymore. Says it was last connected 4 months ago, but my subscription is active, the OnStar light is green in the car, and I can still pull up the vehicle location on the map. I've tried logging out and logging back in multiple times, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I even did a call with support, and they said they couldn't see any issues on their end. Does anyone have a fix for this? My vehicle is a 2025 Chevy Tahoe RST. Thanks so much!!0likes2CommentsMonths without OnStar Telematics
I bought a new 2026 Chevy Traverse less than a year ago. During my first year of ownership, the vehicle has spent 42 days in the shop after the ESC light tripped for the brake system. A few months later, now I'm now dealing with a failed Telematics module with no ETA for replacement parts. It's been 30 days since my dealership put in the order. My vehicle included a tech package with internet and OnStar service, neither of which work anymore. Remote start? Gone. Locate the vehicle via App? Gone. God help us if we're actually in an accident and need OnStar help. Can't connect. I'm losing value by the day with no end in sight. I cannot understand WHY replacement parts are not available for a new model. It's such a poor reflection on the GM brand.0likes1CommentInstalled used telematics control module on my refreshed 2022 silverado
Dealership stated TCM was back ordered with no date available (6 months ago). Another dealership gave me a list of part numbers that were replacing my original TCM part #. Found one from 2024 silverado on Ebay. I installed it and took to dealer to program with my truck. Ck engine light went out and I could see where I was on the downloaded map. I called onstar to activate wifi and I'm told I can't activate service because the VIN on the TCM and my truck don't match. You figure it would be easy to do a switch, but that would make sense. I figure it's like buying a used phone and finding out it's locked by the service provider. This would resolve back order issues and get them some revenue coming in. Waiting on a call back from onstar to see what they say.0likes2CommentsTelematics Module/Onstar Not Working 2022 GMC YUKON
I have a 2022 GMC Yukon Denali with 49,000 miles. The vehicle included 3 years of connected service. The service expired over the summer and I didn't renew opting to try Apple Car Play for navigation. The Onstar communication, clock and connected services regarding maintenance etc remained functioning. I decided to renew the subscription last month and the vehicle lost all communication after. I reached out to Onstar and was informed I needed to take to the dealer. Dealer states the Telematics module is bad $1275.00 for replacement. Not covered under any warranty. The same day I renewed the subscription I received a vehicle status email so communication existed until the subscription renewal was done. I was told to reach out to GM. I contacted and was provided a sorry no help reply. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to navigate getting a covered repair on known problem?0likes1CommentGoogle built in navigation 2025 Silverado 2500HD
Cannot enter a destination in the google maps address search bar and navigate to it. When I do, the vehicle location suddenly is nowhere near where I actually am, even though prior to entering navigation mode, my location on map display was spot on. Nearly always defaults to show my location at or within 1/4 mile of my home. I've used the map feature in the MyChevrolet app and the "send to vehicle navigation" function which does actually send the destination and navigation to the vehicle, and it will occasionally work for a little while, then suddenly it shows the vehicle location on the map display as off on side streets and the navigation directions become invalid. I've done the reboot, checked for updates. Nothing corrects it.0likes1CommentData privacy issue?
I recently purchased a certified pre-owned Cadillac that includes a 30-day free OnStar trial. I activated the OnStar trial at the dealership, but declined to give my payment details when the OnStar rep asked me to provide it to have “on file.” A few days later I created my OnStar web account so I could check out the available plans. When I navigate to Payments & History > Payment history, a list of OnStar services the previous vehicle owner purchased shows up. In my case, it shows “Unlimited Data Plan.” When I click one of the entries I see the previous owner’s full name, address, account number, receipt number, payment date, type of credit card they used (Visa) and the last four digits of their credit card. Can any of you who purchased a used vehicle see the same thing as I’m seeing? I would think this is a serious data privacy issue.0likes1Comment
