no data plan
I wouldn’t have purchased my gmc sierra if I knew how much car play is so unreliable with no data plan! If I would have known I needed to pay for my truck basic features for as long as I own this vehicle I would have chosen my second choice truck that has all features that work with no extra money payed out for basic safety features! My cellphone carrier which I have had no issues with my old Silverado 2019 RST which had more features and you can’t provide your own data plan is the biggest scam on new vehicles and worthy of deceptive misinformation on new vehicles at the time of purchase loyal customers where mislead to believe car play would work and didn’t realize how much you paralyzed our ability to use infotainment console shameful and was always a Chevy fan but not now buyer beware!

Please allow us to provide some clarity on this point. At this time, CarPlay does not require an active data plan nor OnStar plan to function. Though, it does require that your device and vehicle meet certain requirements for the service.
