Bring back the weather app!
I discovered yesterday that the Weather Channel app has been discontinued. I'm not happy about this! I use this app constantly. It's really the only add on app that I use in the car. I love it when I'm driving long distances alone and I need to check the weather. It's so much safer to look at the radar quickly on the screen vs trying to pull it up on my phone while I'm driving. I live in the Midwest and the weather can change quickly, especially in the spring and summer. OnStar is about being safe in your vehicle. I can't think of any apps that they offer that are more important to safety than the weather app. Please bring it back! I will definitely pay a little extra to have the app. It's important to me and my safety! I called OnStar yesterday to let them know my concerns about this decision. I hope they decide to bring it back!29likes41Comments- 5likes6Comments
Bring back a weather app
Like so many others, my 2023 Denali lost the Weather App without warning. I travel across the country pulling expensive cars to shows, and believe me, I rely on that app. I’ve ready a company legal release, so tell me, what is so hard about getting another app to replace the weather channel with?2likes2CommentsWeather Channel App
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the recent removal of the Weather Channel app from the OnStar services in my GMC truck. The Weather Channel app has been a valuable tool for me, providing reliable, real-time weather updates that are essential for my travel safety and planning. As a long-time GMC and OnStar customer, I have come to rely on the convenience and functionality of this feature, and its removal has negatively impacted my overall driving experience. I hope you will reconsider this decision or offer an alternative solution that maintains the same level of service and accessibility.2likes1CommentConcern Regarding the Removal of the Weather Channel App

I'm a long term On Star customer from Texas. I was disappointed when the system in my 2007 pickup became obsolete and was basically useless. I seldom used it, but it was a comfort knowing that it was always available if needed. I still have an active account in my 2025 Traverse.0likes1CommentForgot security pattern to unlock admin profile in infotainment system.
At the initial setup of the admin profile for my 2023 GMC Sierra, I went with the security pattern option and made my mobile phone and trusted device. Aside from some Bluetooth issues it worked okay until there was a problem with the My GMC app crashing for 2 days. When I was finally able to access the app I discovered that my mobile phone was no longer a trusted device and that I could not get access to the infotainment system. I had used my phone as a trusted device for so long that I had forgotten the pattern I had used. I spoke to a couple of people with OnStar and all they could offer was to set up a new user profile and disregard the admin profile. This is not a good fix. Although I can use some of the features, many of the permissions granted to the admin are lost. This was not allow me to manage other user profiles and I am essentially a teen driver with limited capabilities. There has got to be a way to reset the infotainment system to factory settings whereas an admin profile can be set up again, or some backdoor in the programming that would give one access to an existing admin profile. I understand that there are security concerns for everyone who owns a GM vehicle, but there has to be some mechanism built in to reset everything. I assume that this is not a singular issue. I'd like to have the full functionality of my truck. Can someone please help!0likes1CommentIntroducing Myself
I am the new owner of a 2022 Bolt EUV. Love the car! But have been having issues getting the MyChevrolet app to load diagnostic data, map data, and execute remote commands like start and door lock. OnStar support has been poor thus far, I am on my second "Work Ticket" # after the first one just disappeared. On my own I have used AI (Perplexity) to identify a known problem with the Telematics unit which may be the cause. I am waiting for my OnStar rep to get back to me and expect he will refer me to a Service appointment for them to verify the Telematics failure and order a new one, which apparently are on back order. I found the SMS - No Connectivity thread in this forum to be very helpful. Cheers!Solved1like3CommentsIntroducing Myself
Hello everyone. I am the proud owner of the 2023 Bolt EUV, Premier, Redline Edition - White. Love this car. It is the best car I have ever owned and that is after almost 50 years of car ownership. I am an EV influencer on YouTube (Jim's EV Adventures). My wife also drives an EV. We are a 100 percent EV family and we will never look back at the Internal Combustion Engine. The EV is more fun, more economical, and more environmentally friendly. Those are three of the thousands of reasons to own and electric car! I will see you all out there, or somewhere along the route from Point A to Point B. Take it easy!1like1Comment
