What is the difference between the My GMC app and the Ontar Guardian app ?? And why would you need or want both ??

The Guardian app allows you to take the safety and security of key OnStar services wherever you go (OnStar Guardian offers Mobile Crash Response, which uses smartphone sensors to detect a crash and alert an Emergency-Certified Advisor, 24/7 Roadside Assistance, Location Status and Emergency Services). 

The myGMC mobile app helps simplify your ownership experience by connecting you with your vehicle’s connected services. For example, depending on your service plan and vehicle capabilities, you may be able to remotely start or stop your vehicle, lock or unlock its doors, see your vehicle’s location on a map, set boundary notifications, view your vehicle’s fuel level or oil life, monitor your vehicle’s health and more. The OnStar Guardian App includes key OnStar safety services Mobile Crash Response, Emergency Services, Roadside Assistance and Location Status. You and your family can use the app in or out of any vehicle, wherever you are. Once opened, OnStar Guardian can run continuously without action required from the member. You simply need to stay logged into the app and allow the necessary permissions.

1. Download the app onto your Apple or Android device
2. In the app, follow the prompts for set up. Be sure to allow the app’s requested settings so it can run properly.
3. Explore the features provided (Mobile Crash Response, Emergency Services Roadside Assistance and Emergency-Certified Advisors).
4. Prompts allow you to share the app with up to seven family members. You can share a unique code with them that will link them to your account
