Control module question
I just purchased a 2023 Yukon with 20,000 miles. Immediately the check engine light came on. After three service people in the auto group scanned the vehicle they determined my control module needs to be replaced. Of course it’s on back order with no ETA. Such a disappointment on something I just spent 60k on.
I have two questions. How long should I expect to wait for this module to come in? Do you have any advice on keeping this from happening to my 2022 Silverado? I have seen others mention that their failures happen after an update or even an oil change. I don’t want that module becoming a brick. OnStar has to know what is causing this, help me out please.

Hi Token!
While everyone’s experience is a little different, check out the rest of the communities comments and complaints about the back order of parts and GMs lack of response.
While I recommend actively participating on this community to attain knowledge of what is happening, it can be frustrating and downright upsetting to see and read the futile attempts the service provider has attempted to do.- ToKenNew Contributor
It is frustrating. My concern now is my Silverado, is there something I can do to keep this from happening to that module. I see a lot of posts mentioning oil changes and system updates. OnStar should provide guidance whether these are related or not. Their silence on those opinions is concerning.
