Onstar Module Needs Replaced
I have a 2023 Chevy trailblazer RS. Onstar stopped working back in November 2024. Told me my car was not getting the signal they were sending. I had to talk to them on cell phone because the microphone was not working in the car. Dealership ran a diagnostic test 2 different ones because Bluetooth was not working. The dealership said it was the Onstar module needed replaced. ($800) GM would pay half if I brought it back in so many days to replace it. Brought up the same thing mileage I was over my 36000 miles. Come to find out the dealership I bought the car from did not give me my extended warranty nor my GAP insurance which I always purchase GAP Insurance. My vehicle docs were on a flash drive so I did not notice the shot they pulled. I have a 2016 GMC Canyon and as of today I have not had an ONSTAR problem nor anything with Bluetooth connection. I had a 2008 Chevy Colorado no problem like this. A 2006 Malibu Max it had a problem with electric seat not wanting to operate.
Come on ONSTAR!!! What happens to safety if the module goes out during an emergency???? FIX THIS ISSUE OR REMOVE IT FROM THE VEHICLE!!!!!š”

Thereās talk of class action but no one has really organized with a lawyer yet. Iām thinking state attorney generals for each state affected but it seems like this is a Nationwide issue. While Iām unfamiliar in this field of law I wouldnāt know where to begin. My 22 Buick is out of warranty and this repair isnāt covered at all. ONSTAR will try to reach out to have a private conversation but it is a waste of time. Remember, ONSTAR is a product of GM and is in ALL GM VEHICLES. No way are they going to go against their parent company.
GM needs to issue a NATIONWIDE RECALL. Some cars are shutting down completely, some are drivable but lack some of the safety features because the faulty module is malfunctioning the safety system causing alerts, service engine lights, and drainage of the battery mid drive. This is a dangerous and hazardous condition to drive under if driving is mandatory, like it is for me. They say āyouāre fineā to drive like this but there is a potential for bodily injury if the car breaks down mid drive on a highway with no warning. Someone is going to die or get seriously injured⦠is that when GM is going to do something about this? They have no problem paying billions out in settlements for wrongful deaths rather than fix the issue to secure lives. This is NEGLIGENCE. It needs to end.
