Onstar Module Needs Replaced
Pretty much. You'll find several mentions of that amongst the complaints here. A software update killed it. Given that it killed so many, it's likely the update that did it and not the mechanic doing the update - unless the instructions they were following were defective.
Well I took my truck in to have the Evap purge canister replaced, they took multiple days to do a 1hr job. Then when I get my truck back all of a sudden my trucks WiFi/Onstar doesn’t work. And I noticed that my glove box no longer worked properly, which told me they had to have taken it apart, and right behind the glove box is where the Telematic Control Module is which controls all of that. They had no reason to be messing with any thing inside my dash.

Interesting, I was wondering where it was located. Check the paperwork you got when it was serviced. If the dealer is doing the right thing they would have documented the software update. It was an update that had to be performed at the dealer. Mine was in for an oil change and they automatically did the update. The app was helpful in pin pointing the update as the cause of the failure, because it showed the last time the truck was "seen" was that day at the dealer. Now I have a checklist to go over each time I pickup the truck after servicing.
I suppose the update might not be the cause if the unit or it's connection harness is so fragile that most attempts to "touch" it can cause a failure. I just assumed they would be able to do the update via the ODB port or over the vehicle wi-fi.
Mine quit working again briefly yesterday. Green light in garage but then red after about 5 min of driving. Just assumed it died again. But a little later the light was green again. So maybe it was doing an over-the-air update. If I recall, during this time the 'data' features that depend on that connection were still working.

Never thought to do a search, but here's more info. I don't drive the truck that often so sitting for a week or two is not unusual. But I never experienced the battery issue that some have and that is discussed below. That seemed to be the primary reason for the recall.

I wonder if he checked the functionality after doing the update. That's what confused me. You think that the FIRST thing the procedures document would tell the tech is to look for the green light - if common sense didn't already cause them to do that. Granted they might have and it did work for a few minutes - we'll never know.
