Onstar Module Needs Replaced
I'm in the same boat here. 2023 GMC AT4X and my onstart module just "WENT OUT" Dealer walked to truck looked insided...never started it.. and says "Yup its the On Star module that went out needs to be replaced, but its on backorder and no clue when they will send out new ones, Sorry but you are possilby screwed out of the next year of service that you paid for" So hardware goes out and its my fault and the money you paid for the service is basicly a tip for what service you did recieve. Guess when its time to look for a new vehicle I will be changing brands....
I have been without the use of OnStar since September and I spoke with my sales rep at the dealership. As this is a well known issue, I made him call OnStar on my behalf and find out what could be done to get a prorated refund for the period I would be without the use of a subscription I was FORCED to purchase. Ultimately, they told me the dealership's OnStar liason would be able to get my contract extended for free by the number of months I was without a functional module after the replacement took place. This all hinges on when the replacement module finally becomes available.
Try reaching out to the sales representative you purchased your AT4X from or the dealership's sales manager. If you do not get a positive resolution, put them on blast on social media for selling products that have a vehicle operating system that has functionality centered around a known bad module.
