These “dealers” she be held accountable as well. They are knowingly selling customers defective products!!! Im so infuriated that i have over 80k brand new vehicle that i cant fully enjoy. Then to be insulted with the bs run around from onstar and the dealership is really icing on the cake. Back to Toyota i am going. Had a 2012 Sequoia for 11 years never had a problem at all. Only got rid of it because they changed the body and i liked it. After driving for a few months it was too small for my liking so i traded it for a 2023 suburbanz71 which didn’t have the module issue but i didn’t like the suspension. Traded that in for this 2025 with air ride suspension which the ride is better than the 2023 but nothing like the smoothness the Toyota had even at 11yrs old. Now i am stuck with this thing i am unhappy with. I should’ve listened to my husband and kept the sequoia:((
Switched dealers because of this and because they refused to further diagnose. Got the run around, got a couple of lies like “oh I never heard of this before” and then left when they wanted me to pay for something that one I didn’t cause, two was faulty nationwide, and three that was not covered under warranty even if I had it still. Dealers are in the business of making money but GM is making these cars and need to make moves. Dealers won’t touch it unless you’re paying or if GM is paying, like I said they only want to get paid. If you die or crash they don’t care, as long as they weren’t the cause and they aren’t. This is a manufacture issue, a faulty product that affects safety features, the safety commission needs to be involved in this as well. This won’t stop unless GM does a Nationwide Safety Recall. How about the Federal Safety Commission on automobile safety???
dealers will keep selling these cars for as long as GM keeps making them. Unless things stopped at the assembly line then we are going to continue to have these faulty vehicles flood the market. Once you buy it’s YOUR PROBLEM and not theirs… that’s where the BS is…
I have a 2023 Suburban and a 2023 Yukon with the same problem. The Yukon offered a free OnStar module replacement through a friend program, but rejected to do so for the Suburban, which now costs $1,140. We should organize and sue GMC for this irresponsible behavior. This is clearly a product defect, and GMC must have known about it, yet they've done nothing, leaving owners with the hassle of dealing with dealers and even having to pay for the replacement themselves. It's time to make GMC pay.
There’s talk of class action but no one has really organized with a lawyer yet. I’m thinking state attorney generals for each state affected but it seems like this is a Nationwide issue. While I’m unfamiliar in this field of law I wouldn’t know where to begin. My 22 Buick is out of warranty and this repair isn’t covered at all. ONSTAR will try to reach out to have a private conversation but it is a waste of time. Remember, ONSTAR is a product of GM and is in ALL GM VEHICLES. No way are they going to go against their parent company.
GM needs to issue a NATIONWIDE RECALL. Some cars are shutting down completely, some are drivable but lack some of the safety features because the faulty module is malfunctioning the safety system causing alerts, service engine lights, and drainage of the battery mid drive. This is a dangerous and hazardous condition to drive under if driving is mandatory, like it is for me. They say “you’re fine” to drive like this but there is a potential for bodily injury if the car breaks down mid drive on a highway with no warning. Someone is going to die or get seriously injured… is that when GM is going to do something about this? They have no problem paying billions out in settlements for wrongful deaths rather than fix the issue to secure lives. This is NEGLIGENCE. It needs to end.I contacted my State's Attorney General. I have to start somewhere. Hopefully they can provide advice on how to proceed.
This is absolutely unacceptable. I called GM today to request a recall since so many owners are having issues and they kept throwing in a loop of connecting me to random teams and hung up the call

I will join the class action lawsuit. My 2025 Equinox EV is 7 months old and the GPS is not working. I have to take it to the dealer and they told me to be prepared to be there for 8 hours since they do not have loaners or transportation back home, like Toyota has always done. Chevy needs to get into the 21st Century. After this car I'm going back to Toyota.

Nice try ONSTAR. What about all of the people that aren’t covered under warranty anymore that this is happening to. If GM responds it needs to be with a Nationwide RECALL of the module. It is GM’s responsibility and ONSTAR can’t do anything about it because they are a product of GM. So they say they can assist to stall and give time to the issue. TIME is RUNNING out. I am a GM owner, have been so for MANY YEARS… I’m so disgusted with how they are treating this issue to owners of NEW and still FAIRLY new cars under 5 years old.
ONSTAR TEAM this is beyond frustrating, it is BEYOND inconvenient, in some cases people aren’t able to drive, this is DEBILITATING. I get nervous every time I see the engine light now and in addition they are telling me it’s draining my battery, AGAIN... It has happened to me BEFORE. I’m going to get stuck one day and it’ll be because of this module, AGAIN. The light goes on and off, pretty soon I won’t be able to drive, and no one is to blame but GM for not responding. Has anyone thought of your State Attorney General’s Office? Sometimes it is where class action lawsuits are born. Contact your attorneys but also try the AG.

Having this issue since 2 weeks and onstar won’t answer calls and keep asking me to do resets.
Take it to thw dealership and demand they fix it. And let them know you know about module problems
My guess is the resets will not help. You, like the rest of us are a victim of OnStar's bad modules, which they refuse to acknowledge or repair. Good luck.
I am just curious. If they ever, and I say that laughingly, because they are not doing anything to get these modules working and in stock, does anyone know how long it would actually take to switch them out at the dealership? 2 hours, 4 hours, 6? I just really would like an answer on this . Thanks.
It took them about 6 hours for mine to get in. However they kept it over night to make sure it was good. They say
