2025 equinox ev- OnStar Telematics module - no dates for backorder part is unacceptable
This module is a defect and definitely a SAFETY issue. The telematics module has the potential of draining the battery completely which can cause the car to shut off MID DRIVE. I know because it happened to me TWICE.
I have reported the safety issue to the NHTSA

I have also reported this to the Federal Trade Commission because it is fraudulent practice to advise consumers that these vehicles are still safe to drive.

We have also contacted a Class Action Lawyer based out of Philadelphia that has gone up against GM before. Speak with Michelle
UPDATE: GM called me back to discuss this issue twice and they are trying to contact the dealership for payment assistance options.

I contacted GM and they said its not a widespread issue and all i can do is wait.

Just got a call from dealership. They said my issue is the gps antenna. Which is also on back order with no eta date

They replaced my GPS and it doesn't work reliability. I also have a "Service Emergency Calling". Called OffStar and they confirm its the telematics module and take it to the dealer. I don't want the car to sit at the dealer for another month. However, as I read on this forum this is wide spread problem with no solution.

that's what they want you to think. This is happening to so many people from ALL over. There's a few fb groups about chevy equinox problems, if that's what you have, and most of the complaints I've seen are about this module. Do not let them dismiss you. We all work hard for the things we have, your safety isn't a gamble. Push the issue.

This is currently happening to me! I had to have my 2025 Enclave jump started twice this weekend! They said there a backorder for the module necessary to repair the vehicle.

My brand new 2025 Enclave has now been in the shop for 27 days without any updates. They are saying faulty on-star module, on backorder. How long will this go on?
