2025 equinox ev- OnStar Telematics module - no dates for backorder part is unacceptable
We are in the same position as you. Have you received the module yet? Ours has been in the shop about three weeks, with no ETA.
Have mine in shop currently for same issue. No connection to app, no navigation, speed limit on dash not working , and no onstar connection. Is this considered a safety issue and are there other issue that may occur with this problem ?

This module is a defect and definitely a SAFETY issue. The telematics module has the potential of draining the battery completely which can cause the car to shut off MID DRIVE. I know because it happened to me TWICE.
I have reported the safety issue to the NHTSA
https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#/vehicle
I have also reported this to the Federal Trade Commission because it is fraudulent practice to advise consumers that these vehicles are still safe to drive.

Many of us have contacted GM DIRECTLY to file a complaint at
We have also contacted a Class Action Lawyer based out of Philadelphia that has gone up against GM before. Speak with Michelle
UPDATE: GM called me back to discuss this issue twice and they are trying to contact the dealership for payment assistance options.

While I did receive a call from GM the issue has not been resolved. I expressed what occurred to me twice and that it is about to happen again because the brand new battery that I bought LESS than a year ago (a TOP of the line BATTERY at that) is beginning to lose power AGAIN. The module will continue to basically EAT THROUGH battery life until the car doesn’t have enough juice to DRIVE… This is not an EV this is a GAS powered VEHICLE so I can only imagine what EV drivers are going through. I told the rep on the phone, “I hope I’m still around to answer your next call, pray the car doesn’t shut off on the highway with an 18 wheeler behind me…” She didn’t know what to say. I left her speechless. So let’s see what happens. For now I need to drive checking my battery voltage every few miles. What a fun DRIVE experience!
