Yea! I'm a victim too! - onstar module failed

No connectivity between Onstar and my 2022 Silverado TB Custom.

Called Onstar, explained my issue, and what is the very first question they asked me? Ding Ding Ding you win!  They asked me if I recently had the oil changed!

It appears that the last over the air update caused the onstar telemetry module to brick if you reset the oil life!

So now, I wait, like thousands of you! My son is taking this truck 600 miles away to school in the fall, this is truly a safety feature I dearly desire....

Fascinating!  That's the first time I've heard that explanation.  If true, what kind of software have they loaded into these vehicles such that resetting the oil life would kill OnStar.  For me they performed a software update which presumably could not be done over-the-air.  That just happened to be during an oil change - as was the case with another person here - ironically on the SAME day as mine just in a different city.
