Onstar WiFi not working
Onstar and WiFi has not worked properly in 2024 Terrain since new, (5 months now). When connecting to WiFi the Onstar light would turn red which made it impossible for CarPlay, WiFi, or Onstar to function. OnStar had the dealership change out both the telematics and radio module. Now my WiFi hotspot says I don’t have a data plan, when I have paid for a premium data plan continuously with no service. I think onstar disabled the hotspot since they know if you try to use the WiFi you are paying for it disables their OnStar functionality, which is a liability/safety issue. I depend on WiFi for my job and this is unacceptable service. As of now I have no WiFi in my vehicle that I am paying for monthly. I have been to the dealership 3 times now over this issue.
The dealer ended up having to open a ticket with gmc tac. He had to reset something in the system after changing out the components that they walked him through. So far everything is working as it should. After 5 months it is a relief to have a solution to this problem.
