No data/telematics unit broke after 6 months
A couple weeks ago the cellular connection on my new equinox EV started getting intermittent. The car was less than six months old. Sometimes I’d start the car and it would connect, other time not. (No “5G” icon the upper right; no GPS; no nav; no Google Assistant)
Now it never connects. Hasn’t connected in a couple weeks.
Called onstar. Escalated to level 2. They said “we can’t do anything remotely. Take it to dealer”
Took it to dealer. They don’t even seem to know what I’m talking about on cellular connection. Had to show them on a loaner how it’s supposed to work. They called me five days later to pick up car. Not working. Sheet says “we updated the software. Customer should call onstar if problems persist.”
I left it there and told them it still isn’t working. They called me later and said “onstar says you don’t have a WiFi hotspot plan.” I said “nope, this has nothing to do with that.”
They called back and said “we talked to onstar again. You need a new onstar module but it’s on back order and there is no ETA.”
What should I do? Will you all ever fix this?
