2025 Buick Envision Location Alerts stopped working.

Purchased this Buick the 1st of Jan 2025 and the location alerts were working to notify my cell phone until Jan 30, 2025.  After that it stopped working.  Just had the vehicle serviced at a GM dealership and they updated all of the code for the radio and navigation and it still doesn't work.

Anyone else have that problem and found a resolution?

  • Thank you for these details related to your Location Alerts. As an initial troubleshooting step, we highly recommend ensuring that your Notification settings are currently enabled within the myBuick mobile app. To check your Notification settings, please see the below steps: 

     

    iOS: Settings > Notifications > Scroll down and select the myBuick mobile app > Tap "Allow Notifications" until the toggle switch is green
    Android: Settings > Apps > Scroll down and select the myBuick mobile app > Notifications > Tap "Allow Notifications" until the toggle switch is blue
     

    With this, your device location and vehicle location must be enabled to receive Location Alerts. If you have any ongoing trouble after these steps, kindly let us know.

    This setting is enabled on my phone.  I have a 2022 GMC truck also setup on the app and it sends location alerts to my phone and text.  The Buick worked for the 1st 30 days and then stopped working.

    I tried the MyBuick and MyGMC app and they both send location alerts for the GMC truck but not the 2025 Buick.

      We appreciate this update. As an additional troubleshooting step, make sure there are no more than 10 active Location Alerts, as only 10 alerts can be active at a time. To delete an active location alert:


      In the Search bar, select the 3 dots
      Select "Manage Location Alerts"
      Select a Location Alert
      Select "Delete", the select "Delete" again if a pop-up screen appears
