“GBI” Radio/Infotainment system can’t let you edit radio presets or personalize climate settings?!
Just took delivery of our new 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali two weeks ago and have been disappointed on several issues that don’t seem to work: I received an e-mail from OnStar that mentioned I could personalize radio presets ad climate preferences via the my GMC app. I have the APP - and been unsinnig it with pour previous 2021 GMC Canyon Denali. At one point - I had the ability to edit the radio presets - but that ability disappeared without notice and I never saw it again. Since it was mentioned in the email that that ability WAS part of the app, I went looking for it. No Joy. I asked about it here, and a helpful member suggested a solution. That didn’t fix the problem. I just spent 45 minutes (idling in my driveway) with an OnStar rep trying to fix the problem. After researching, they said that my “GBI” Radio that this vehicle is equipped with can’t do this functions. What?! I’m not convinced that that is the ultimate answer - I would certainly think that my 2025 Denali trim level GMC has AT LEAST as much capability as my 2021 did. I’m feeling a bit disappointed =- and that’s NOT a feeling one should have with a brand new $70,000 vehicle. Seems I also can’t locate, download, or install the AudioBooks app, or the Weather Channel app I had in my old GMC vehicle. Just disappointing…. I’m sure the answer is out there - I guess I just have to find the right person to ask.Solved709Views1like3CommentsMy Cadillac App failing to Remote Start
for the past three weeks. My Cadillac app has not allowed me to remote start, lock or unlock my car. I have been on the phone with Onstar around 20 times and spent more than 30 hours dealing with this issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I’ve called Onstar from my car and opened up two cases, and yet nothing has been corrected . It also doesn’t show me any other statistics for my car. I pay for the essentials plan, which includes this, and unable to use it for the past three weeks. the dealership says it’s not their issue and they wouldn’t be able to fix it so I’m at the mercy of the Onstar team who still hasn’t figured out what’s going on. Does anyone have this problem? what’s the solution?4.9KViews1like12CommentsApp not connected to ONSTAR services
Hello, I recently purchased a 2022 GMC Sierra with the new infotainment system. In 3 short weeks my truck ate throw 3GB, I called ONSTAR for support and they blamed me. Apparently, my phone used all my data. The first girl said they have tools to figure out what used the data from the truck but I needed to call tech support. A few days later I call tech support to be told they don’t have tools to diagnose where the data was used and it was all my phone. 3GB gone and not a single app used on the truck. Then, I try to set up myGMC to my app to use the remote start. It tells me that my truck is not connected to ONSTAR services and to press the blue button, so I did. Just to be told the truck is activated and there shouldn’t be an issue. Over an hour on the phone and logged into the website numerous times, through every single page and nothing. The GMC website literally says my truck is NOT connected to ONSTAR services and there’s no place to link my account. When I try to activate ONSTAR on the website it says there’s an error and to call. How am I supposed to use the remote services when the my.gmc.ca says my truck doesn’t have ONSTAR activated, but ONSTAR is saying it is activated!?? Tell my why I’m paying for services that I can’t even use?40KViews6likes14CommentsMyGMC Trailer Light Test
My GMC trailer light test functionality appears to have been removed or lost in the most recent update of the app - March 2025. I use this feature frequently. I called OnStar support today 3/9/2025 and they seemed confused regarding this trailer light testing feature. How do I get this trailer light test functionality restored in the app?46Views1like3CommentsVehicle Status is Broken
The vehicle status feature of the myChevrolet app is broken and has been for the 8 years I’ve owned my Volt. It rarely ever works. The remote lock/unlock and start functions work reliably, so clearly the app is communicating with my car through OnStar. BUT, when it comes to fetching my vehicle status so I can see things like my current charge state, the app throws error, after error, after error. If I’m stubborn enough to just sit here and refresh ad nauseam, eventually an update may come through. Please do not tell me to reinstall the app, restart my car, or any other nonsense. This is a problem with the app and OnStar that will not be fixed by consumers mucking around on their devices. I have little faith that after 8 years of this function being broken that OnStar will ever fix it, which is why I’ll be letting my service expire later this year. Really, I should demand my money back for these last two years of service, considering a primary function of the ‘remote access’ plan I have rarely ever works. The attached photo shows the many failed attempts I just made to refresh my vehicle status. In this case, it took 8 tries before the app finally pulled data from my car. This is just ridiculous.21Views1like1Comment2024 Cadillac Lyriq No Longer Works w/ MyCadillac App or OnStar
I have a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq that has stopped communicating with the MyCadillac app. The remote start features no longer work. OnStar is not working correctly either. I have tried a soft reboot of the infotainment. I have tried a hard reboot by disconnecting the 12v battery. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the MyCadillac App. I contacted OnStar and they said they would escalate to level 2 support - but no one has gotten back to me. You can see in the app that it hasn’t successfully communicated with the car in 6 days. What are other things I can do? I feel helpless and without any support. It’s deeply disappointing having a 2 year lease on an expensive vehicle that is less than 3 months old and doesn’t work as advertised.10Views0likes0CommentsMyChevrolet App No Longer Works
I had a fully functional MyChevrolet app on my android phone, but now it no longer works. I have tried all of the following, trying to troubleshoot the issue: 1) I have cleared the cache, 2) I have cleared storage, 3) I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Every time, the app freezes on the "OnStarPIN" screen. If I enter a PIN on the screen (the same PIN I had already entered at the dealership a few days ago), nothing happens--I stay on that screen. If I tap on the back button at the top left of the screen, I get a totally blacked out screen, and again nothing happens, it's stuck on that screen. If I close the app, and go back into it, once again I'm on the "OnStarPIN" screen, and can never get past that screen. (Note that my wife was successfully added a couple days ago as a family member, and the MyChevy app on her android phone is still working.) Please someone at OnStar do whatever you need to do, so that I can use the MyChevrolet app again. Thanks.2.6KViews0likes8Comments2024 Colorado Trailboss remote start
Hi, I just recently had gm install remote start on my 2024 Chevrolet Colorado trailboss but I have no start button in my app. I have called onstar customer service multiple times and just get the generic, “delete and reinstalled Chevrolet app” and they put in a ticket to elevate problem. Been 2 weeks now and still don’t have the remote start button on my app. Is there a specific person or department I can talk to in order to get this done and not waste time calling the regular help desk any more?2KViews2likes8Comments
