GM & OnStar Cannot Agree on Services Included
Did you ever get anyone to clarify this for you? I purchased a 2025 Acadia, and I was wondering the exact same thing. The OnStar Basics description is very specific that music, podcasts, audio books, and news audio streaming apps are included, but they all prompt me to upgrade my OnStar plan other than the Google News app. The moderator's replies to your original message make absolutely no sense.
I 100% agree. The messages make no sense. I honestly gave up on this group. The other issue is after talking to a dozen FM people, all had different answers. I was told garbage like music means you can download the music app but not actually play music!! Another said everything requires the premium $350 plan! Long story short, I was right, finally an EV concierge did a remote diagnosis and said the OnStar module needed an update at a dealer. Did it and appears to work but been here before. Will see if it stays working. GM really needs to put CarPlay back since they cannot reliably do it without like Tesla. Very frustrating and I wasted a dozen hours trying to get this fixed.

Thank you for the update and for sharing your feedback, @szerfas as. We’re glad the EV concierge was able to identify the need for a dealer module update. If the issue comes back or you have any questions, please feel free to send us a private message to OnStar_Support with additional details.
