Bring back the weather app!
I discovered yesterday that the Weather Channel app has been discontinued. I'm not happy about this! I use this app constantly. It's really the only add on app that I use in the car. I love it when I'm driving long distances alone and I need to check the weather. It's so much safer to look at the radar quickly on the screen vs trying to pull it up on my phone while I'm driving. I live in the Midwest and the weather can change quickly, especially in the spring and summer. OnStar is about being safe in your vehicle. I can't think of any apps that they offer that are more important to safety than the weather app. Please bring it back! I will definitely pay a little extra to have the app. It's important to me and my safety! I called OnStar yesterday to let them know my concerns about this decision. I hope they decide to bring it back!

I noticed a "blank" space on my screen yesterday. Didn't think a whole lot about it. Briefly looked for The Weather Channel app yesterday but didn't spend a lot of time. This morning I started doing research and found the GM or OnStar had removed it. I'm so pi**ed.
Does anyone know if and how you can add The Weather Channel app or the apple weather app to the Car Play screen? I looked and couldn't find a setting to add it.Any way to complain??! My most used app!! I missed it immediately!
The more people who call OnStar and complaint the better. That is what it is going to take to bring it back. They took away something in the navigation on the map and had to bring it back because of all the complaints. Call them, call them daily, tell everyone to call them, inundate them with calls and complaints. Maybe they'll listen to the people who are the users!
I have to agree with everyone! Should not have been removed with no warning and I’d love to see it come back. Huge takeaway! Very disappointed!
I cancelled my onStar plan since GM removed 2 features I've used.
Not much confidence in wanting to go to a newer vehicle they want to pull android auto/car play support for and force you to use their headunit when they're showing us that they'll remove features in under 5 years and there is no alternative. At least with android auto I can add some of this functionality back with 3rd party apps
Losing the Weather Channel really sucks. Was useful but could have been really a much better app. I am now looking at using CarPlay with an iPhone 16. Phone gives me the safety I could get with a very expensive OnStar subscription. Apple Maps so far has worked great. I tried out WAZE and that provides up to date traffic info plus more when not following a route with Apple Maps. Not sure how much I will use WAZE because I am not a fan of Google who owns WAZE. If I want that with Apple Maps, just setup a route and follow. Lastly is weather. Weather Channel app is too commercial and a pain to navigate when used with CarPlay. Tried it out and now using MyRadar. Maps are much better than the lost Weather channel app. So, with a few more weeks of learning and evaluating, I will probably dump my OnStar subscription because with free apps, I get what I need. I rarely use the MyGMC app because I have found that it can mess up your infotainment system if you do not set up the media screen correctly. Remote start is always available with my key fob. GMC Maps+ is a dud. Don`t use any other app but iHeart radio and I have that setup on iPhone and works better than it did with OnStar. Sorry OnStar, but it looks like your service has run its course on my pocketbook. GM not supporting the TWC app is what got me to look at CarPlay and frankly, it is turning out to be a better solution. Only going to miss not having internet while traveling, but I guess the slow version using cell data will have to do. AT&T data plan did drop a lot when travelling my route in the northern Rockies. Once off major interstate, coverage was marginal and dropped a lot. Cell data with Verizon is much more dependable.

Please bring back the weather app. I used it daily. Came back from out of town and I’m super bummed that it’s gone. It was one of the few apps I used.
Me as well! I use that app frequently and when I saw it disappeared I was quite upset. I don’t use any of the other app except for that one and of course that’s the one that’s gone. Please bring it back!
So I can’t see the weather while I’m driving which could be detrimental to where I’m heading, but I can check the status of my non-existent stock portfolio on the Wall Street Journal app while driving. Makes sense. (Insert eye roll here) 🙄
I just discovered it was missing today. I knew my app layout was different last week and it didn't dawn on me that the weather app is missing. This is a terrible and disappointing decision.
