Alexa skill for My Chevrolet no longer available

Truly disappointed! There is no value for me to pay for remote access service when I can use my key fob. I just called and cancelled the plan.

Adding my displeasure, on 9 degree mornings - such as this - the Alexa Skill was extremely convenient to be able to start my Equinox. The other car features (lock, unlock, etc) were very convenient as well. Having to fumble around with the phone, find the app, hold the button down is inconvenient. Please bring back the Alexa Skill!

I agree, this was just a dumb backwards move.  My Mom loved this option and honestly pretty pissed off.  What does it cost to have some young dumb college grad to update an app.

This shows how less than tech leading General Motors has become, especially on your overpriced vehicles.

I am proud to be a Mecedes owner,  as will my mother in the near future. 

Sure wish this would work again.   It was so nice to get out of the shower and ask my Alexa to start my chevy on cold mornings.   Just enough time to finish getting dressed and head out to a nice warm Silverado truck.

Gm just can't stop hurting themselves.  Taking away paid features while raising prices, then lying about the rationale, then doubling down on the lies. Looks good on you General! 

4 cars all on onstar, all with paid plans. App seldom works and if it does, it takes so long to open the app, switch cars, deal with security, send a command, wait for incredible network delays, try again,  get mad, swear, think unspeakable things about the gm mgmt, etc that I could instead call onstar, wait on hold forever, be transferred 4 times, cancel 4 plans, find my keys, walk a half mile to the garage, grab a coffee, start the car and still be faster. Yes,  your customers surely prefer to use the pathetic app! Lmao!

Eliminating the alexa skill saved you (nothing?) But it sure is costing dearly in terms of credibility as a tech-enabled vehicle mfr. 

I'm very disappointed that this is no longer available.  I love being able to start my Chevy hands-free from my home in the winter time.

The cars has google assistant, Alexa is not required inside the car if doesnt have at least same features. I'm not able to use it to turn on my seat heater per example or power on the A/C. I'm not able to turn on the Alexa with my voice, I need to click on it to works so is not useful or even safe to use while driving.

Who will ensure GM will keep this enabled for subscribers? Dont sell the cars with features and remove them after. People will use the feature, people buy accessories, increment their infrastructure counting on that feature. I use Alexa in my home environment for any automation. I'll not get my smartphone do open a buggy app which take minutes to execute any action on the car(when it works). it doesnt support automation, it doesnt support integration with other apps and APIs. So why I'll use it? and if I doesnt use it and oneStar doesnt have the integration I use well...I dont need OnStar subscription anymore too... this was the only reason to me to keep OnStar subscription today...

This is a terrible decision and simply makes no sense. This was the best feature of the OnStar service.

course we all prefer the app over the Alexa skill. I live to get this in the morning. 

What about the many of us that DID use Alexa to start our vehicles? The MyChevrolet app is very glitchy and hardly ever works. The Alexa skill was super convenient and always worked. I don’t understand why GM is consistently going backwards instead of forward. First CarPlay is gone, now the Alexa skill. Next, you’ll remove Alexa from your cars all together. It’s sad as a customer.
