Alexa skill for My Chevrolet no longer available
I use a routine on my Alexa device to open my garage door and start my vehicle daily while getting ready to leave for work. Within the last week, I noticed that I wasn't getting prompted for my PIN to start my vehicle, and getting a message from Alexa that it couldn't connect to My Chevrolet. This has happened before and I would just have to re-link my account in the Alexa app. When I tried to do that, it appears that the My Chevrolet skill is no longer available on Alexa. The myGMC skill in the Alexa app has been broken since June 2024! There are countless reviews in the Alexa app under the MyGMC skill, does anyone even monitor these reviews?? Has the app been scrapped but you are not telling anyone? What's going on here?? Yes, I've removed and readded the MyGMC skill multiple tmes now, I've also deleted and reinstalled the Alexa app to see if would fix the issue but like all of the other frustrated users, it does NOT! You get a BAD GATEWAY error EVERY TIME you try to link the skill since June 2024! Broken for a few days or even a week, I get it, but broken for several months seems like no one's even working on it. Can someone please just come out and say that the myGMC skill has been abandoned? Confirmation of this world be greatly appreciated. I pay for the OnStar service so that I can use this skill and I've been holding out with hope of a resolution. I have reinstalled the app. Reset my phone. Made sure app was up to date. Made sure my phone software was up to date. I have not once ever been able to get MyChevrolet app to work. It always does the same thing. Sad too because it's 2023 and most other places have these kinds of things working smoothly since the late 2000s. I hope I get a chance to use this app. The woman keeps talking about Toyota and I'm starting to lose reasons on why I stay so damn loyal to Chevrolet.7likes19CommentsMyChevrolet App Vehicle Status/Info Not Updating
My vehicle status, i.e. tire pressure, fuel level, miles, trip info, etc., has not updated in over 3 weeks. I've deleted/reinstalled the app, had a new signal sent, all of the things I've been recommended to try. None of these have worked. I have a 2024 Sierra 1500 and my vehicle status has not changed since OnStar had to refresh my wifi signal in my truck 7 days ago. I don't know if there are any similarities but the vehicle stopped updating after the refresh. I have already done the power cycle of the truck (run for 2 minutes...off for at least 2 min...sign out of the MyGMC app and back in...have also uninstalled and reinstalled several times). I also have another vehicle in the app and it is updating just fine. The link seems to be the truck but not sure.7likes79CommentsApp not connected to ONSTAR services
Hello, I recently purchased a 2022 GMC Sierra with the new infotainment system. In 3 short weeks my truck ate throw 3GB, I called ONSTAR for support and they blamed me. Apparently, my phone used all my data. The first girl said they have tools to figure out what used the data from the truck but I needed to call tech support. A few days later I call tech support to be told they don’t have tools to diagnose where the data was used and it was all my phone. 3GB gone and not a single app used on the truck. Then, I try to set up myGMC to my app to use the remote start. It tells me that my truck is not connected to ONSTAR services and to press the blue button, so I did. Just to be told the truck is activated and there shouldn’t be an issue. Over an hour on the phone and logged into the website numerous times, through every single page and nothing. The GMC website literally says my truck is NOT connected to ONSTAR services and there’s no place to link my account. When I try to activate ONSTAR on the website it says there’s an error and to call. How am I supposed to use the remote services when the my.gmc.ca says my truck doesn’t have ONSTAR activated, but ONSTAR is saying it is activated!?? I have just cancelled our OnStar service and Data service for both of our Chevrolet vehicles. The primary reason is VERY POOR customer service and technical support for the "myChevorlet" app. I have had documented and confirmed issues for MONTHS and they were unable to fix them.5likes0CommentsGM removes Alexa remote commands from my Chevrolet

Going to make a separate topic, maybe this will help someone else along with me.... 2020 Buick Encore, app will not load/show vehicle status. (tire pressure, oil life, fuel left, etc.) It works fine for remote start, lock and unlock. Has been going on since I purchased vehicle Jan 28th or so. Vehicle shows on map, but will not do location alerts. Cannot change wifi hotspot SSID or password. Able to type a different name and password in the fields, but when I hit save, nothing changes. Same problem with buick.com site, under account, connected vehicle, vehicle settings, get the error message Whoops, invalid data or something like that. I have discovered that with the vehicle running, i can attempt to change the SSID and password with the app, it looks like it doesn't change, but then i can open the website and see in vehicle settings that it has changed. Then going into the infotainment Onstar menu, wifi settings, it has changed to what i entered. however in the radio wifi menu, settings, wifi, manage wifi networks, the name and SSID remain unchanged. ( the one with the car wifi symbol- cant delete it or edit it, only view name and password. Is it supposed to be there?) After an ignition cycle, the Onstar wifi menu ssid name and password change back to what is in the radio wifi menu. Onstar has a case open , I just get a call from someone about once a week, asking if it's working yet, and saying we're still working on it. At this point I have little confidence that it will ever work. Free trial is almost done, I will not pay for Onstar without this working. Losing faith in GM, Buick, and Onstar....5likes7Comments
