Old folks
This may not be new, but is new to my Wife and I. Our 2025 Xt4, owned for 6 months now with no issue with onstar remote start, now is requiring a verification code every time to start the vehicle . For use older people this is very cumbersome to navigate to the email or text. I do understand for some people this very easy. So we now have a remote start system that we can not really use. This seems unfair to people who are not that tech savvy. Plus we had no notification of the verification code change, or any instructions how we might manage this. Sorry to say but not to impressed.12Views0likes1Comment“GBI” Radio/Infotainment system can’t let you edit radio presets or personalize climate settings?!
Just took delivery of our new 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali two weeks ago and have been disappointed on several issues that don’t seem to work: I received an e-mail from OnStar that mentioned I could personalize radio presets ad climate preferences via the my GMC app. I have the APP - and been unsinnig it with pour previous 2021 GMC Canyon Denali. At one point - I had the ability to edit the radio presets - but that ability disappeared without notice and I never saw it again. Since it was mentioned in the email that that ability WAS part of the app, I went looking for it. No Joy. I asked about it here, and a helpful member suggested a solution. That didn’t fix the problem. I just spent 45 minutes (idling in my driveway) with an OnStar rep trying to fix the problem. After researching, they said that my “GBI” Radio that this vehicle is equipped with can’t do this functions. What?! I’m not convinced that that is the ultimate answer - I would certainly think that my 2025 Denali trim level GMC has AT LEAST as much capability as my 2021 did. I’m feeling a bit disappointed =- and that’s NOT a feeling one should have with a brand new $70,000 vehicle. Seems I also can’t locate, download, or install the AudioBooks app, or the Weather Channel app I had in my old GMC vehicle. Just disappointing…. I’m sure the answer is out there - I guess I just have to find the right person to ask.762Views2likes5CommentsMyChevrolet app vehicle diagnostics not working
The vehicle diagnostics stopped working after three months on my new 2025 Silverado. I have OnStar Basic and Connected Access plans good through Oct 2032. The connected access provides “standard connectivity for your vehicle – including Vehicle Diagnostics and Dealer Maintenance Notifications”. I received monthly vehicle diagnostics reports in November, December, and January. No email was received in February. The last update date reported in the app for the vehicle diagnostics is 1/26/2025, precisely one day before my three month trial of Safety and Security ended. So far, the app vehicle controls are working fine. I deleted and reinstalled the mobile app. I also logged out and logged back into the MyChevrolet app in the infotainment system just in case. I have started and driven the vehicle multiple times since Jan 26.62Views0likes1CommentMyGMC Trailer Light Test
My GMC trailer light test functionality appears to have been removed or lost in the most recent update of the app - March 2025. I use this feature frequently. I called OnStar support today 3/9/2025 and they seemed confused regarding this trailer light testing feature. How do I get this trailer light test functionality restored in the app?149Views1like9CommentsMy Cadillac App will not Update a
My Cadillac App will not Update and OnStar cannot connect (even though green light is on). Technical support never calls back. They have no answer. What the heck are they doing? I have a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq that has stopped communicating with the MyCadillac app. The remote start features no longer work. OnStar is not working correctly either. I have tried a soft reboot of the infotainment. I have tried a hard reboot by disconnecting the 12v battery. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the MyCadillac App. I contacted OnStar and they said they would escalate to level 2 support - but no one has gotten back to me. You can see in the app that it hasn’t successfully communicated with the car in 6 days. What are other things I can do? I feel helpless and without any support. It’s deeply disappointing having a 2 year lease on an expensive vehicle that is less than 3 months old and doesn’t work as advertised.47Views0likes4Comments
