My GMC app.
Has anybody actually had their OnStar app work right after they’ve contacted OnStar about the issues with the app. I’ve owned a truck for over a year and it hasn’t worked right since day one. I’ve contacted OnStar no less than six times and every time they run a diagnostic, it’ll work for two days or less and then you just get tired of it,as of right now my app has been down for 25 days again and I’m just kind of giving up on it. It is a good app when it works. It just doesn’t never work.App controls keep failing
A bit frusterated as a bought a 2022 Yukon Denali with 36000 miles less than three weeks ago. I have had nothing but problems and countless phone calls with onstar. Have tried endless amount of troubleshooting and finally referred to dealership. None of the control functions (remote start, lock, unlock, etc) will work on my app. They will continue to spin and then fail. Very disappointed as the vehicle is not old and low miles, as well as I just got the vehicle. The vehicle stats (gas, oil life, etc) will not update either. I have a 2024 Sierra 1500 and my vehicle status has not changed since OnStar had to refresh my wifi signal in my truck 7 days ago. I don't know if there are any similarities but the vehicle stopped updating after the refresh. I have already done the power cycle of the truck (run for 2 minutes...off for at least 2 min...sign out of the MyGMC app and back in...have also uninstalled and reinstalled several times). I also have another vehicle in the app and it is updating just fine. The link seems to be the truck but not sure.Remote climate control still missing
I have a 2025 Sierra Elevation. When I got it in April, remote temperature control was available in the app. Now it's gone. I have had a ticket 68838346 open with support since 6/17. After gathering information via email, I was told a support engineer would be in touch via phone. I have heard crickets since. I have followed up via email several times with no response. MyGMC app will not update vehicle status. I've tried uninstalling, log out/back in, granted all app permissions, clear cache, restart phone, Still nothing. Seems to happen about 2 months ago with the update at that time. Since then nothing seems to reconnect the vehicle. All other controls work. My GMC app isn't working after last update 18/2/2025, so after you open the app the sign in shows up and i put on my credentials and then the app keep loading for ever and never complete or open. So i had to use the other app My Chevrolet app and that works fine and i can access my cars through it. so am wondering what is the issue i tried everything such as restarting my phone, close all apps and un-install "My GMC app" and re-install it and still same issue.Complete Scam
So I bought a new to me 2024 GMC Sierra HD Ultimate. It was original sold with 3 years of connected service (I have the window sticker) Called Onstar yesterday to register it to me. The rep gave me a year of the premium plan. Sweet! Not so fast. Everything worked for about 2 hours. I called in today to see what gives and the rep tells me they did away with the old plan that I have just been given a year of, and if I want connectivity it's 57 bucks a month! wtf?! So GM charged the original owner at purchase. And then under the guise of a "new plan" they want to scheme me for 57 bucks a month. On a truck with 100k+ msrp no less. Such a disappointment. I traded my BMW x6 for a 2025 Hummer EV 3x. I never thought the App experience on an EV would be so poor. Nothing refreshes unless you log out/in. Went through an hour of troubleshooting with App Support, and after nothing worked they said “something must be going on with the system since a lot of people have been calling with the same complaint”. It looks like this problem has been happening for MANY owners for years. I can’t see when the car is charging, it’s progress, I can’t set a location, everything is painfully slow and it doesn’t matter if I wait days!! The manual refresh button doesn’t work and I have to walk out to the truck to see how it’s doing. The whole Google/Android interface is painfully slow in the vehicle. Doesn’t feel like a 100k+ experience and I’m having serious buyers remorse coming from BMW and Mercedes. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a GMC again when I’m done with this one.Hummer EV is broken, no one can figure out why
To sum up the post, if you are used to accessing your vehicle controls from your phone and sending remote commands - do NOT buy a Hummer EV. If you like watching shows on your car infotainment screen while charging - do NOT buy a Hummer EV. if you like checking the app to see how much charge you have on your parked EV - do NOT buy a Hummer EV. Hummer EV is broken. On Star doesn’t know why, Dealer doesn’t know why, GM doesn’t know why. Is it Onstar? Is it the Cars software? Is it the Hardware? No one has an answer, and no one cares. call onstar and they lack the technological know-how to trouble shoot anything that isn’t a “reset”, the dealer doesn’t have the tools to check if the hardware is working and will just tell you to call GM or update the software. GM, well Goodluck getting a hold of them. the sad part is my prior EVs from 2012 and 2018 from Tesla and Rivian had very reliable app connectivity to issue commands. My other car, a Lucid, even lets you schedule your service from it. Never an issue with speaking to your vehicle. So why can’t a legacy car maker like GM figure this out in 2025? On a $100k EV. Hulu app? Doesn’t work, just keep hitting retry. Wi-Fi hotspot? Doesn’t give you the option to turn on data. How much charge does my Hummer have? app says It’s been at 72% since I picked it up from the dealer. Lock/unlock your car or any other remote command? Negative. do yourself a favor, if you want the tech to work, buy the car from a startup, not the guys that retired the H1 Alpha or produced the gaudy H2.Climate control from app
I have a 2025 GMC 1500 Sierra Denial Ultimate and I not sure why I can not control climate controls from my app, I have installed the app updated the app signed back in and still no climate controls on the phone , I have read on here that it was taking off when Google was put in the software but I also read on here that GM fixed that and now it works but I cannot see it on my app so not sure what Im not doing right or what's happening and suggestions?
