Why does music streaming on OnStar Basics plan not work?

My trial of OnStar One finished, which should leave me with the features that came with my 2027 Chevy Bolt. However none of my music or podcasts work anymore.

Music and Podcasts are listed as included features supposed to come with my 8-year OnStar Basics subscription, according to the page that lists all my active features with an expiration in 2034. When I try to listen to my music on the Apple Music app, it seems to be wanting an internet connection. I understand that the WiFi hotspot is behind a paywall, but clearly, the info from OnStar’s own records is saying I should still have access to music and podcasts.

What should I do?

Thanks! Sandy

Update.....thanks to support team, I'm back in business.....it took a refresh, and several reboots, but all is good. FWIW - we had a heck of a time signing into Apple Music, and I had decided to get Apple support to help with getting car to connect to my Apple account, but when I got home, I gave it another try and was successful. Definitely some glitches in the process....might be worth developers investigating...

  • Just wanted to bump this issue - it just happened to me as well. I resolved it by doing a hard restart of the infotainment system - while parked, hold down the "Call Declined" button on the right of the steering wheel for a good 15 seconds. Wait for the screens to come back, and (at least for me) maps and music started streaming again.
