Telematics diagnosis
It appears I have the same problem as many others. I purchased a used '22 GMC 1500 AT4. I decided to try the OnStar trial for a few months so I could use the navigation, app on my phone for remote start, etc. After a couple weeks everything quit working. There is no light on the console and no communication at all. The dealer wants a $200 diagnostic fee just to look at it.
Does anyone know how to diagnose that it is in fact the telematics module? If I can confirm that's the problem I will replace it when upgrading the horrific Bose amp/speakers and eliminating the auto stop feature.
The most annoying part about it is that the clock won't automatically update on the infotainment system and loses about 2-3 minutes per day when I manually set it. To be honest, the GM app sucks anyway because you can't adjust climate settings from it. I expected more out of such a new vehicle. I guess that's why everything else in my fleet of cars/trucks is 40+ years old.

2021 GMC 1500 AT4 here. Good luck! It took 2 days for the dealer to diagnose the issue....after the whole "phantom" battery drain that is also attributed to these faulty modules.
My truck has been in the service bay since March 5 with no end in sight. Since these telematics modules are on backorder, various blogs and reputable service and part technicians assure no ETA due to the parts being discontinued and GM "trying" to keep up.
I have called numerous dealerships in California, Iowa, Florida, Texas, Michigan....all tell me the same and almost uncanny rehearsed message..."Parts are on backorder....and we are not sure when they will be fulfilled."
Also, good luck getting any real help with this, as you may only get the torturous reminders from your dealer or GM Customer Care that "We are still experiencing a delay on the part(s) needed to repair...."
But don't you worry! They understand that this is a significant inconvenience and continue working on getting the same template message to you in a week....to assure you....someone is clicking on a keyboard to make sure you feel like you are being helped.
Between the ongoing and numerous electrical issues these branded vehicles are known for and the most recently updated class-actions against GM.... I am now seriously considering moving on.
