OnStar Red Light - 2025 Silverado - 3 Weeks Old
Title says it all - purchased a brand new 2025 Silverado 3 weeks ago…the OnStar light turned red 16 days after we purchased the truck.
Called OnStar and the diagnostic test came back with 2 error codes - U1008 & B1B2F. I’m not sure what the issue is, as the dealer is contradicting the diagnostic report. I’ve need researching online and see a couple of service bulletins referring this issue from years ago. I am not really sure what to make of it - as I’m coming over from a Ford that had a flawless infotainment system. This just seems a bit excessive for a system that’s not “brand new” - installed on a vehicle with less than 2k miles. Reading thru all the posts across the internet - this appears to be quite common - which is something that’s acceptable in a newly launched platform; not something that’s been around for multiple years.

I had the same thing happen to me with my 2025 Cadillac CT4. My light went red after I paired a phone to the car. Once I removed it and cycled the car a few times it went to and stayed green.
