ONSTAR for rv's

Someone out there must know the answer....why can't we in the rv world use a similar module as GM vehicles in our rv's....most have satellite antennae already.  Are not the physics similar?  I'm thinking out of the box....just don't want to be forced to go with Starling.  Thanks smart folks...

    We appreciate your question. While certain OnStar services require a module connection, the OnStar Guardian app provides you and your loved ones access to critical OnStar safety services anywhere you go — that’s any vehicle, all on a compatible smartphone.

     

    The Guardian app provides access to the following services for the OnStar Member and up to seven additional loved ones they add to the “My Family” group:


    • Mobile Crash Response
    • Roadside Assistance
    • Emergency Services
    • Location Status

      So are you confirming one can use OnStar guardian to tow a class B MOTORHOME?

To clarify, The Guardian app provides safety services right on your smartphone, so you and up to seven of your loved ones can have the reassurance of Mobile Crash Response and Roadside Assistance in any vehicle you’re traveling in. Using the sensors in the phone, the app can detect when the user is in a moving vehicle. It can determine a change in acceleration when a crash occurs and notify an Advisor who can contact first responders. The app can even differentiate the impact of a crash from a simple drop of the phone. As the app relies on smartphone sensors rather than embedded vehicle sensors, it can be subject to greater limitations in certain situations.
