To clarify, The Guardian app provides safety services right on your smartphone, so you and up to seven of your loved ones can have the reassurance of Mobile Crash Response and Roadside Assistance in any vehicle you’re traveling in. Using the sensors in the phone, the app can detect when the user is in a moving vehicle. It can determine a change in acceleration when a crash occurs and notify an Advisor who can contact first responders. The app can even differentiate the impact of a crash from a simple drop of the phone. As the app relies on smartphone sensors rather than embedded vehicle sensors, it can be subject to greater limitations in certain situations.
