On Star Module
Technical and Service Support OnStar Support
My 2025 Chevrolet Equinox has failed hardware — specifically the OnStar module. I was told this part needs to be replaced. Any idea how long that might take? I rely on this vehicle for long-distance travel with my son for sports, so navigation, remote lock/unlock, and remote services are essential. I loved my Equinox until these systems stopped working. Can you please look into this? Are replacement modules currently being manufactured or available? An estimate of how long it might take? Any assistance, guidance, or information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I tried to send a private message to OnStar Support, but I received a message to try again later.

Same issue here. 2025 Chevy Equinox just sitting with no end in sight. Bad On Star module draining the battery. My car has been sitting for weeks. Todays update from the dealership…
I just checked with my parts Director and he states that there is no update or ETA on movement of the part. No activity based on what he can see. unfortunately, this is a unique situation that I have not seen before. Usually there is parts on mechanical part and the latest on mechanical parts is anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few weeks. I have not seen this occur with any kind of module.
This is beyond unacceptable. I am paying a payment for a defective car.

I too am experiencing the same drained battery. The real problem is GMC can’t troubleshoot their own modules. They just leave it up to dealers to swap parts instead of training specialist to rehabilitate modules that are not defective but need reprogrammed . They do not have specialist. So basically the same guy who can rebuild an engine is expected to be a computer programmer , and they just spent qualified.
