I can see why they give free trials.

Bought a new to me 2019 Encore. Love the car and one of the reasons why I chose this one was the features it had. Was looking forward to the in car hot spot they advertise could handle up to 7 devices with streaming. We do a lot of road trips so it was something I thought would be good for the family. Yeah that was a joke. one device barely gets anything over 1 mbps. In a ATT 5G+ area as well. Switched phone to 4G LTE since that's what the car has and it was downloading at 70 mbps. Mind you the signal bars on the screen are always full so its not a lack of service in the area. The data speeds are so slow that even the built in apps fail to even work. I was using apple carplay for most things anyways but on my commute to work, I drive through some rural areas where the onscreen signal never drops yet my Verizon phone will go SOS most the way. Was wishing with would be a good alternative over switching phone carriers but in the end I might just have to switch anyways.
Further issues:
I tired to log into the mybuick app on the radio and it gives me an error saying "OnStar in not available"....Either the person I talked to didn't activate the account correctly or like the many other post on reddit are true and OnStar really isn't worth having. Which I am really surprised as its one of GM's selling points. I haven't tried contacting OnStar about it yet as after reading many reviews on the hotspot issue it seems that most folks just give up and cancel their service as they just get the runaround with OnStar. Logging into the OnStar website, I can see that I have a plan which is active. Is it possible that for some reason the car still thinks I don't have a plan?
