Hey Advisor_Jack, the issue is the words come out that OnStar cares…but in reality the only “care” is whether a customer sends in $$ every month. Possibly this was a low used feature, but I kind of doubt it. It was super convenient and I used it probably twice a week all summer. It impressed my friends too…now it’s gone. I’m pretty close to following Brad’s lead. What does it take for you to actually listen to your customers??

Hey Advisor_Jack,
I would be very interested in knowing the results of your discussion with your team of developers. Why did you remove the the feature? Was there a technical reason, was it difficult, did you think the usage was low? Why was this an "improvement?" Why remove a feature already there?
It just makes no sense to me or anyone who is a customer. Do you realize that this feature was actually used in marketing material for the 2021 and 2022 SUV's? It was used to demonstrate how technically advanced they were. Just crazy to me that OnStar and GM would make this decision.

I also am quite curious as to why this feature was removed.

What did you find out? When will it be fixed?

They have permanently removed it so I canceled my onstar because of it. They have a lame excuse that vendors often don’t want to renew like Alexa and weather which are gone. The lights are pure GM. It makes no sense but we are losing features and prices go up. Other brands are doing that too and it’s not right. Like BMW charging a monthly fee to use heated seats in some markets. Apparently customers don’t matter. So now whenever I hook up a trailer I have to have a helper to test the lights.

ReataDriver: It was more than a convenience item. On-Star says that they are truly about safety. This is a safety issue. They just don’t want to admit it. Discontinuing this feature has created a safety hazard because now, drivers are less likely to test their trailer lights now that the app no longer provides this safety feature. With fewer trailer light testing, all motorists are now at a higher risk of death and injuries.
