OnStar One Plan bait and switch

Anyone else get a notice that their legacy OnStar plan(Essentials) is expiring and they need to choose a new plan?

I received the expiration email and when I went to OnStar it showed the OnStar One Plan at $34.99/month or $349 per year.  When I clicked on the details, the pricing went up to $49.99/month or $499/year!   I connected with an OnStar customer service advisor (Jolien) who spent 25 minutes was wasting my time and saying ‘so you’re wanting the $49.99 per month plan’, even though I told Jolien that I was trying to figure out the pricing discrepancy ($349 vs $499).

As a 10 year customer, this has been the most frustrating (lack of) customer service experience with GM and OnStar.  I’m ready to let the plan expire and not renew with any of their current plans.

Same thing and the customer service rep offered me a month free and said it was on marketing putting the wrong information out there and the lower price is only for 25-26 vehicles --- who already get the service free for being a new vehicle ... rip off!

We played the ‘contact customer service’ game and the advisor only tried to upsell me the monthly plan at $49.99, not tell me 1) why there was a $150 difference in the price offered ($349.99) and what was going to be charged ($499.99) for the OnStar One plan.

I have made a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission of OnStar offering extending my subscription service at one price but when I attempt to do so, it is a higher price.

Same here.  You go to the page and it tells you $349.99, but then when you try to renew it it is $499.99.  What a scam.  I will not be renewing my service and will be reporting this to my state’s office of consumer affairs.

Now OnStar has blocked access to my account (which is still active through 12/31/25) because I called them out on their misleading advertising.  Way to treat a 10 year customer…
