Wifi on but ‘not connected to internet’

MY FIX- Chiming in here to hopefully help whoever needs this- I found a fix for the issue. 

OnStar and even Dealership were zero help. Countless cases and calls to OnStar. Zero resolution. 

We had the “trial” period and after we went to paid service the Internet access stopped. The truck- a 2026 1500 AT4 would broadcast WiFi signal - but there was no internet behind the WiFi. 

Turns out there is a desync when users switch from trial to paid service that turns OFF your hotspot access ON THE GMC app (my trucks hotspot was always On).  If you are experiencing this issue like me, go to your GMC app, under Controls-> WiFi and make sure the radial button is ON. As soon as I toggled this on, Internet was back. 

Spoke to OnStar and they said “oh, that’s not part of our troubleshooting steps. — And— Oh, I didn’t know there was a setting in the app.” Hope this saves some people as much headache as I went through.
