Concern Regarding the Removal of the Weather Channel App

I am reaching out to express my disappointment over the recent removal of the Weather Channel app from the OnStar services in my GMC truck. This app has been an invaluable resource, offering dependable, real-time weather updates that are crucial for ensuring my travel safety and effective trip planning.  As a loyal GMC and OnStar customer, I have come to greatly appreciate the convenience and practicality this feature provided. Its removal has unfortunately had a negative impact on my overall driving experience.  I kindly urge you to reconsider this decision or to introduce an alternative solution that delivers the same level of reliability and accessibility.

YES!  Please bring back SOMETHING that will give us weather and radar alerts.

  • We appreciate your feedback, Leaner. Please know, The Weather Channel has decided not to renew its contract with GM regarding the application developed specifically for GM vehicles. There is no plan in place to bring back The Weather Channel, but we are always looking for ways to provide unique experiences to our Members. With this, another weather option may be considered at a future point. Thank you for your understanding.

I’m so sick of GM, Ford, Dodge, price keeps going up quality keeps going down, I too liked the weather  app. Sure shift the blame to weather channel. You can come up with alternatives. I reached my limit, not because of some app, but because GM like pretty much every us Automaker has gone to far towards profit mentality, and could care less about customers. This has been building for years. I feel sorry for you having to work for this company, I know you have no control over anything at GM, but they stick you in front to deflect the results of their horrible decisions. Regardless GM gets burned about every 10-15 years, they take a beating, bribe congress for favorable policies, and slowly drift back into the same cycle, I assume which likely correlates with each executives tenure. That’s ok, internet is slowly improving the memory of the masses.
