MyChevy App wont remote start/ won't update
It sends the request, then after awhile it states "Please turn on your vehicle to reconnect and try again, contact on star". I have turned on the vehicle, but still the same problem. The app has not updated in many months. Shows incorrect fuel level %, incorrected miles left to empty, and incorrect odometer miles.
Thank you for clarifying this information for us. At this time, we would recommend performing a power cycle on your vehicle before retesting to see if these status values update and your remote commands difficulties resolve. We've attached the instructions for completing this step below. If you should continue to run into trouble after completing this process, please send an email to us at socialmedia@gm.com with, "ATTN: OS Community/Mossberg," in the subject line so that we may further help. We hope to hear from you soon.
Power Cycle Process Steps:
Note: If vehicle is not currently running (engine on, ignition on), the customer will need to start the vehicle and run for at least 60 seconds.
Note: Only to be used, when safe for the customer to do so.
- Enter the vehicle and turn ignition on
- Move vehicle to an open, uncovered area, if not already
- Vehicle should run for at least 60 seconds
- Shut off vehicle
- Remove Key from ignition or Press start/stop button
- Open the driver’s door
- Only if Safe to do so, customer to exit vehicle
- Key FOB must also exit vehicle
- Close Driver's door
- All other doors, hatch, liftgate should also be closed
- Lock vehicle doors using Key FOB
- Key FOB must be outside of vehicle
- Critical Step: Wait ~2 minutes (or until OnStar LED goes out)
- This allows time for the OnStar unit and other electrical systems to turn off
- At a minimum, the OnStar unit needs to turn off
- Re-Enter the vehicle and turn ignition on
- Move vehicle to an open, uncovered area, if not already
- Vehicle should run for at least 60 seconds
- Retest
